Goodtimes, those are some great pix, and I've seen a bunch in the past 7 years. Do you think maybe Apolo had a operation to remove some of his insides? LOL, just kidding. That flat tummy has caught my eye, but your pix are beautiful examples of an athlete pared down to essential muscle and bone. JR is so cute! The young girls will swoon over him as they did when Apolo was a beautiful boy too! Very nice. Thanks.

Lily, thanks for capturing moments from the awards ceremony that I couldn't get from my vantage point. They're simply beautiful, especially the ones of Jeff on the podium and JR with his sweet smile. Your photos recall the superhuman efforts that Jeff and Apolo made during Nationals in spite of their injuries. And then, too, I love the story that unfolds in your selection of photos at the starting line. I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who saw a pink/beige cast in my photos. I agree that post processing is a pain. I think that the light fixtures in St. Louis cast spotlights, leaving the rest of the rink in relative darkness. As a spectator, though, the lighting was just fine. In comparison, the lighting in SLC was more diffused and photog friendly. If I'm not mistaken, Jerry Search alluded to these lighting issues in St. Louis on his website. Sorry if this was too much info! Sk8er, I couldn't have said it better: " eautiful examples of an athlete pared down to essential muscle and bone."

Autumn, I'm not sure why, but I cannot access your photos. I am using the link above and it says that it is downloading photos but gets hung up before it ever fully downloads. I will let it sit for 10-20 minutes and still nothing. I have high speed internet so it shouldn't have any problems. Any suggestions...anyone???

Thanks Lily, Goodtimes and Autumnbliss for sharing your pictures. Awesome, as usual. What a cute pic of JR at 15, Number1Fan. Love the Christmas Tree Wags. You do think of everything.
Lily, glad you and Sam are doing better. Have fun in SLC skiing.

What browser are you looking in? I can see maybe either Explorer or Firefox not liking it (Netscape definitely wouldn't like it). It's does take a little time to load them all (185 pic!) but it shouldn't take that long (I say maybe a few minutes to get them all loaded). I will tinker with it today when I'm on my work PC. Great pictures from all! ;D Light was pretty ok for me. But my lens kept back focusing which was driving me nuts! But then again, I don't use it for indoor sports usually (not big enough f-stop in the light for most places) so I'm surprise it did so well. Oh yes, J.R. and his million dollar smile. I think in general J.R. has a very open, fun and like-able personality. I also here he's quite the clown and prankster. As for the close connection with Apolo, it was definitely apparent that both of them are really good friends (many times during the meet they were talking or giving a congrats to one another), I can see Apolo/J.R. relationship being a brotherly type with their age difference. But I think most of the men's squad seem to be close and a nice group.

J.R. is no slouch in the brain department either. He's been accepted to Cal, the University of California at Berkeley, the best public university in the world. (They have special parking plaques for the many Nobel Prize winners). If he doesn't make the Olympic team he's going to Cal, probably the most difficult public university to get into in the country. They routinely turn away loads of folks with GPAs of 4.0 and high SATs.

Hey guys: Great pics all around. Love all of the unique shots we are seeing. The ice sequence by Lily is very interesting. Thanks #1 for reviving the old Apolo/JR shot. Looks like dad Celski is happy camper too! Young, old, whatever...I'll be there when I'm a using a cane!
Wags: Christmas in St. Louis. Do you like old movies? Did you sing, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" while forlornly looking out the hotel window.
Not sure what I'm talking about. One of my fave movies: Meet Me in St. Louis with Judy Garland when she was in her "best" voice.
