Likewise Lily. I am planning on seeing David sing on the tour the two times they will be in CT. I did go last year to watch Danny and the SYTYCD tour and he was beyond brilliant. It was such a great show. I follow him all the time..such a high standard. I thought Chris was the logical choice to leave tonite but I might have sent Comfort rather than Chelsie, just from a technique point. There are lots of wonderful dancers left.. Thayne and Comfort are an odd pair. I still see Will and Joshua at the end of it all. So nice to see Dominick and Hok tonite.. like old friends.

Angelina... do you know anything about him??? I just found out that Mark's the brother of a friend of a friend (small island here). He dances and choreographs for 24-VII Danceforce, a prominent Hawaii dance company. In fact, they recently had a concert that featured two pieces of Mark's choreography - one was a "Chess" number that had two factions of dueling "pieces," with half the dancers in black and the other half in white. I heard it was mesmerizing. I loved Mark & Chelsie's hip hop as well as Joshua & Katee's samba. The latter was smokin' and Katee totally won me over with how she struggled with playing the "seductress" because she's usually very conservative. But she rocked that number! And Joshua was awesome too. Josh & Katee's samba: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfoAusNvpPwPics from Mark & Chelsie's hip hop: Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig5ZuCTTZVQMark was amazing in tonight's group number - he just owned it. Demented, twisted and just perfect. It totally reminded me of how Mia choreographed a totally Danny-centric piece last season. She sure changed her mind about Mark pretty quickly - from being disappointed with his capabilities in Week 1 ... to featuring him in her piece in Week 3. Amazing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaWSBsOfywYI get the feeling Chelsie doesn't fully appreciate the awesomeness she is ever so fortunate to be paired with, and it kinda bugs me. Dang girl, open your eyes. I loved the clip of Mark backstage: "Sorry, Chels, I gotta go to work. Yeah, ok, bye ..." He slays me. I was expecting Chris to leave tonight, but was surprised about Chelsea T. She was so luminous, and I thought her solo was great. It was especially cruel that the judges didn't provide an explanation.

is it just me or is Chelsie sometimes rude to Mark?

is it just me or is Chelsie sometimes rude to Mark? I don't think so - I think she has a dry sense of humor and treats him like a brother. Since she's a tomboy, it comes across as rough. When I said it doesn't seem like she appreciates his awesomeness, I was referring how she went "Ewwwww" when they had to go forehead to forehead in the tango, how she said, "Don't breathe on me," etc. Whereas I'd be, "Please, feel free to breathe on me!" heh. Many viewers feel the same way you do though, and there's lots of talk about how she's bit*hy and a pain and won't last long on the show after the couples are mixed up. She's an exquisite dancer in her style though, and I think she's just misunderstood. That's the impression I get, anyway. She and Mark share really cute hugs when they're declared safe.

I loved Mark & Chelsie's jazz routine on Wed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MA2f-h-GuQI liked their foxtrot very much, too. Mark's technique may not have been the best ever, but I felt he pulled it off. Loved the lifts. I just wish his pants had been a tad longer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP0rwngpXbc The other standout routine of the night was definitely Katee & Joshua's contemp. I really like her and hope she makes it to the finals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XlsIMWCG1UAdam Vary's recaps on EW.com: Performance: www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20210238,00.html Results Show: www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20210559,00.html His picks for top ten are, in order of "ascending order of personal preference": Jessicer, Kherington, Courtney, Gev, Chelsie, Twitch, Joshua, William, Katee, and Mark. He's a man after my own heart! Tonya Plank's recap: www.huffingtonpost.com/tonya-plank/emso-you-think-you-can-da_b_110882.htmlI like her insight, though I don't agree with her on all points. For example, I disliked the West Coast Swing and Thayne/Comfort's Broadway piece. I was impressed with this, though: One thing about Nigel's "Matt needs to be more macho" comment: a commenter here argued earlier that such criticisms were out of place on a dance show, and I agree. Dance is an art, and art is about transcending stereotypes, not succumbing to them.

#1fan, just for you: I agree, they were amazing! Also, behind-the-scenes videos of group dance rehearsals in case you haven’t seen them. Mia (Top 16): www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPTBN4hjGx0 Tyce (Top 14): www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDsBHDyMEpEI love watching the rehearsals, partly because the camerawork on performance night really s*cks. I wish they'd stop all the haphazard panning and cutting and splicing. I just want to see the performance, dangit! It's also interesting to get the choreographers' insight. For example, Mia's crazily demented piece was about love? mmmmmmmkay.

angelina - thanks for the YouTube link for Mark and Chelsie's dances from last Wednesday! I neglected to set my timer/record when we left for San Diego/Idols show so early last Wednesday. I loved their jazz dance... superb! ;D

i must agree with the judges tonight...although they mentioned that if it were their actual choice, it would've been 2 women leaving...that's unfortunate for thayne.
for me, jessica is on the bubble...yes, her comtemporary routine was AMAZING but she's not as consistent nor confident as the remaining contestants.
my faves: katee and will (hands down), then in no particular order: joshua, chelsie & twitch then mark, kherington & gev and finally courtney & jessica.
what do you think?

#1fan, our picks are sorta similar – I’d definitely rank Jess and Kherington #9 and #10, and Katee #2. However, my absolute favorite is Mark (in case you couldn’t tell, LOL). From #3 to #8, I don’t really have strong feelings about everyone else just yet. It will depend on how they do in the coming weeks, I guess. Here are Adam Vary’s rankings at ew.com: www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20211965,00.html --------------------- 10. Jessica 9. Gev 8. Courtney 7. Kherington 6. Chelsie 5. Twitch 4. Joshua Rewatching Josh's Viennese waltz from Wednesday night, I could see the awkwardness the judges were talking about, but the guy is still by far this season's biggest surprise, the one who's impressed us most often with his ability to take on styles whole time zones away from his wheelhouse. Born to dance, with an instantly likable personality, he could have it rough when asked to partner with women other than Katee — but I highly doubt it. 3. Will He's got all the assets of season 3's Danny Tidwell — world-class technical skill with elegance and poise for days — with none of Danny's early jank attitude. But since the judges have worked overtime to paint Jessica as a pair of soul-sucking human manacles keeping Will's brilliant wings from reaching their true stratospheric potential, the guy's kinda under the gun to break the SYTYCD sound barrier now that he's free to partner with women more equal to his blinding magnificence. So was his strangely frenzied solo last night a minor bump in Will's road to dancing sainthood or a symptom of performance anxiety heretofore curtailed by his need to shore up Jessica's nerves? We shall see. 2. Katee It's hard to believe that she entered the top 20 with the greatest handicap of any of the dancers, namely her honest-if-none-too-wise remark in Vegas that if she didn't make the finals this time, she'd likely never audition for the show again. Five weeks later, Katee enters the top 10 as the female dancer who reminds me the most of last year's winner, Sabra: She can make pretty much any style look as if it were coming naturally out of her own body rather than a series of steps placed on her by someone else, and she quietly refuses to mug, clown, pose, or in any way seem desperate for America to love her. Which only makes us love her all the more. Well played, Katee, well played. 1. Mark Without any screen time during the auditions, and practically zero unearned pimping from the judges, Mark has managed to win me (and many of you) over for one simple reason: The guy performs. Other dancers are certainly more technically capable, but no one draws me into a routine more immediately and with more natural style, and I don't know if any dancer has more fun up there on the stage. And yet I was hesitating putting Mark as my top choice here, because I wasn't yet sure if America is completely behind him — but then he and Chelsie landed more votes this week than the seemingly invincible Twitchington. That makes Mark and Chelsie one of only two couples who have never been bottom three'd (the other, of course, is Katee and Joshua); based in large part on your comments in our boards, I'd say Mark's the one in his partnership bringing home the bulk of those votes. His partnering skills, by the way, are his greatest asset going forward: As the dancers split up into new couples, I have a feeling Mark's going to have the easiest time gelling with whoever comes his way. ------------------- Yes! I worship Adam.
