Random questions about Apolo!

This is a question for people who have received personally autographed items in Apolo's presence: Does anyone happen to know if Apolo has various autograph styles? I couldn't help but notice that he added an extra symbol/mark for 1 of 2 autographs I received that day @ Nikkei Concerns from Apolo - sort of made me wonder

I think I answered my own question after some quick research - it appears Apolo's intention was to include a Japanese Gemini symbol inside of the first "O" in Ohno, unless I let my imagination run wild and then it looks like an X inside that same O ... Any comments? Maybe other fans haven't noticed this subtle symbol in the past.

Hmm...that's an interesting question, Maria. Do you mean Gemini as in the astrological sign? Do Japanese people write it differently?

...yes, susie. I saw a couple of different Japanese versions for this sign and concluded it was intended as such. Funny though, why Apolo would only write it on one & not the other autograph, hence my curiosity.

I'm just delighted to hear something new! The further we get from February the more scarce news becomes. If anyone has a pic of the autograph with the sign in the "O" I'd love to see it.

Okay...we'll have to keep an eye out for photos with his autograph, then. Maybe he's experimenting with it.

That's a good suggestion - why not just take pictures of both autographs he signed for me that day and we can all have a field day with it. I don't have a scanner though...that would sure expedite the investigational process!

Thereafter, if Apolo wishes to come forward in terms of its authenticity, it most certainly, would settle our curious minds. Give me a few days...

When it's ready (Apolo's Autograph pic), should I post a link on this thread or Apolo Encounters? Since it isn't an encounter anymore but a signature - the pic's also include: raffle tickets (I didn't win), airplane boarding pass, name tag, and Carnegie's Restaurant business card.

I would keep it here, Maria, but it's up to you. If you want, you can open up a new thread such as "Apolo Autographs" or "Apolo Memorabilia"...or put it under Apolo Encounters, as you suggested. It's all good.

I just noticed a new pic posted of Apolo w/someone holding an autographed program... (nothing inside the "O"). I've been comparing mines to others i.e., E-Bay, Apolo sites and have been unable to come up with a match (I feel special .

You're Maria from Simplyapolo aren't you? You're pictures of the Nikkei dinner were beautiful. I hope you enjoyed yourself, I wish I could have been there to meet you, and Apolo of course. I'm originally from Seattle, I just couldn't make it this time.

The difference in his signature is probably as simple as human nature, he went with one thing, then another just kicked in because it was more natural to him. We won't know unless one of us meets him in the future to actually ask him. I'd rather talk to him about other matters personally. Feel free to post your pics here!! The ladies around here will eat them up for sure... You're not easily offended are you? We get a little randy around here sometimes. Brace yourself.
