Rose just out of curiosity..what did they say..i live for gossip... LOL! Sorry, Laura, I would not want to repeat a couple of the things that were said there. And I hope that the board does get back to the way it was just a month ago, when you could post and don't feel like you might get flamed, or deleted, or see a topic and are afraid to post your opinion, even if it is personal or just in passing. There are people who are feeling that they have to bite their tongue, and this isn't a "if you don't like it, then go to another board" situation. I'm just saying that there are some people here that might feel like they might can't say as much as they want or would like to for fear of being flamed or deleted. Or challenged in a discussion. That's all. I am sorry that members may be feeling that way, Crimson. I promise you, though, that we aren't going to delete a thread just because we disagree or don't like what has been said. If that were the case, I would have deleted several of the recent posts on this thread. LOL ;D Believe me, I don't like deleting posts. It is definitely the least fun part about being a mod. I'd must rather be posting and interacting with the other members. And I truly hope I didn't come across as "if you don't like it, go to another board." Those who chose to be members here do have to abide by the rules but I have learned to care a lot about all of you and I really, really, really want you all to stay!

And there was absolutely nothing positive in taht last post so here goes one. I do respect the mods jobs here and I think that you guys do a great job of the board and website. I also try to welcome the new members here as much as I can and I will continue to post here as much as people want me to be here. With that said, I will try my best to stick to the rules. I don't know if I have broken any or not but for the future I will stick to them. Speaking of breaking rules, I feel like I am breaking them because the other forum where I am a member has a rule against double posting. Thanks, Crimson for your nice comment about the mods. I am sooo glad you plan to stick around and yes, yes, yes, we want you here!!!!Crimson, I honestly can't remember any rules you have broken (I can't think of any at all) but thank you from the bottom of my heart for wanting to follow them in the future. It certainly makes my life easier as a mod. ;D And, once again, I am glad you plan to hang around. I enjoy your posts very, very much.

I'm just kidding!!! Just poking fun, that's all ;D OMG! I laughed my butt off at this one! Look, to get a more understanding of my character, at work, I get in huge debates on political issues, and lets say, I am a tree and animal hugger, while at the same time love to bear arms and think that my tax dollars shouldn't be spent on feeding and housing a murderer when the government is shrugging it's shoulders at the homeless and financially unsteady. ( I tried to word this the best way I could without lighting up a red flag for the youngsters. I am also one for pranks. I stuck a fake roach on my bosses coffee this morning. That cup went flying, and I keep pulling stuff like this, and I have yet to bve given a pink slip. Not too bad, huh!

Hey Warhorse, in your avvie, it looks like the horse is smelling or about to kiss Apolo's hair! LOL!
I agree, I love to get into discussions on great topics. Hopefully we will all get there again with some great discussion topics on this board.

I am going to temporarily lock this thread. For the next four days I will be extremely busy with "Real Life" so I won't be able to answer questions or respond to comments. The few minutes that I will be online, I need to focus on the whole forum and not just this thread. If Lindsey comes online and has time to respond, perhaps she will unlock it. If not, I will unlock it on Monday when my life settles down a bit. If you have any questions or comments that can't wait until then, feel free to send me a PM and I will try to respond.
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

After reading all the posts about the rules, I just have one thing to say, quoting Pirates of the Caribbean, oddly: "They're a little more like guidelines." I honestly haven't seen too many people breaking *the rules* and they're not there to inhibit anyone, per se. I just wanted people to keep some of these things in mind, and I really wasn't targeting anyone at all. I wasn't necessarily addressing any certain situation, etc. It was all general things. I didn't want to have a rules thread in the beginning. But yes, warhorse, I did get complaints. A lot of them. Many people have sent me messages wondering if we needed a rules thread. At first I disagreed, but the main reason I posted them is because I hoped it would actually make it easier on me. Being a mod is a lot of work, and I'll admit here that I'm a full-time student and spending hours deleting posts is a lot of work. About deleting posts, however. The majority of the posts I delete are not offensive. The ones I usually delete are posts that stray way off topic (and I only delete the ones WAY off, since I don't think it's wrong to stray a little! . I could probably count on one hand the number of offensive posts I have deleted, really, from a thread. I allow the off topic posts to be there for a while, but then I delete them, because it's very hard to sift through three to four pages of posts to get back to the topic. So the deleting is really for the people searching through the post again. Not because I hate them or anything.. I hope that clears up what I meant by that.

Crimson....you are the best poster on this board...your posts are very articulate and thoughtful...I to think this is the best board on the net it is just a little more sanitized than I appreciate..but I respect that...but as for younger posteres its their parents job to regulate what they do not posters on a message board.. I agree with this statement. This is why myspace is being attacked right now. Everytime it's mentioned on the news, it's because some parent is complaining of it's content. Yes, there are some outrageous content, but you can modify a message board all you want, and the books and magazines and tv shows and movies. But these kids are going to learn the same thing in school and from friends. There's no way around it.

And I went on a Myspace group page about Apolo, and most of those posters do not have the level of thought or respect about Apolo as our posters have on this board. I bet some of them could not carry on the level of discussions that we used to have about Apolo, his ideas, his level of competion, or sports period. Some of them might be abe to, but some of them won't be able too.

That is why I love the proboards format. I am part of another one, and I have a blast with it. Myspace is ok, but the groups I find terrible, mainly because the site crashes too much. Proboards has a stready record.
The only thing my adminastrative pals had to delete was when we had this punk come on the board and spam it up with this JOE THE KING crap. But that was settled right quick.

Myspace is really getting a lot of flack. I mean it's really creepy and that Tom guy, I guess he is the creator of Myspace, he automatically gets added to your friend list.
I am constantly deleting friends and and watching my bulletins.

I pretty much add friends that I really like. I get asked all the time, but if I see people that have like 1000 friends, then I deny them. But I have been slack myself on myspace, mainly because it is getting too busy, and it takes forever to download pages.
I have heard of a similar place, but not as crowded, called cherry something. I dont have the exact name, but I'll look for it when I get back home, I'm at a friend's tonight using his computer, not mine!

yeah I might delete my page. I don't know yet. I mean now potential employers are using Myspace to check up on potential employees, which I don't think is right or fair.
But do you really want a potential employer to see you on your MySpace page??? Or your "friends"
