...it looks like we have another Oz member to corrupt here. LOL Welcome! Lexi, y'all have given it a mighty effort, I must say - I can't speak for the rest of the 'hooligans', but I believe I've resisted temptation and maintained proper decorum (okay, well maybe not 'all' of the time)... ...be afraid, Christi, be VERY afraid... (actually, I've probably been 'naughtier' on OZ than I have been here - back in those innocent, 'newbie' first months when I didn't know any better! - okay, well, I'm STILL like that I guess) I just wonder sometimes what they think of me when I get diarrhea of the mouth and 'post' without the ability to 'edit'... *blush* BTW, Lexi - whooooo is that gyrating, pulsating, rotating guy in your siggie - I was mesmerized for a full minute (or so).

I beg to differ, my dear. I was a meek and mild little poster when I first came here...full of purity and innocence....then you became my board mentor...and now I'm as currupted as the rest here. BTW, Lexi - whooooo is that gyrating, pulsating, rotating guy in your siggie - I was mesmerized for a full minute (or so). Why that would be Mr. JD Fortune - lead singer for INXS and a fellow Nova Scotian. This is only but a small taste of the sex appeal we Nova Scotian's have!

Welcome bcmama & christi I hope you are both enjoying yourselves here. Kudos to christi for having more nerve to come over from OZ to be corrupted by us than I have to post at OZ. (I just lurk- I may be already too corrupted for that site----- it's all lexi's fault....)

Thanks for the welcomes from y'all..... Athletic training--I mean the sports medicine kind of athletic training. My degree is in sports medicine. So I dealt more with injuries and keeping athletes healthy, not so much the physical training aspect. And now I'm a stay-at-home mama, so not much chance to use my degree . I just finished reading Apolo's book, and when I read that he'd dislocated both kneecaps.......I was freaking out! That's supposedly one of the most painful injuries you can have.

Hey everybody! This is my first post on GA.com (or any site for that matter)...I'm happy to be here! Like I said...it's my first post on pretty much any fansite MB so I'm a little shy, but here's a little about me:
My name is Karen...I'm from northern California and I'm a sophomore in HS. I started speedskating about 6 months ago! I'm a member of the NCSA (Northern California Speedskating Assoc.) and I do inline skating every day that I can't get on the ice. I got into the sport (obviously) by way of Apolo in 2002. I wanted to try ST back then but I was only 9 around the time of the Olympics and I was into tennis...so when 2006 rolled around and I'm a little older now I started looking for a place to speedskate and found the NCSA. I've progressed a lot...I love the sport!! I love the feeling of quickly gliding over the ice...it's amazing!!!
Anyways...I've been a huge Apolo fan since the beginning- 2002 (eventhough I was only 9, lol). I think I was one of the first people to get his autobiography...got it the day it came out! It's definately in the Top 5 list of books for me...it's so powerful and inspiring (esp. considering he was only 19-20 around the time he wrote it). In 2006 I again loved watching him race and receive his medals. I had never seen DWTS before he went on and I have to say-what a time to start watching! He was amazing on the show...still haven't watched it at all this year- no one can top Apolo!
Overall...I appreciate Apolo not for his killer good looks or medals, but for his attitude towards everything and because he makes an amazing role model. He's a humble, big hearted, goal oriented, hardworking athlete that always gives 110% towards anything he does. He is (and always will be) my hero!
