Welcome ApoloUSA/Karen! I am SO excited that you joined. How great to have someone on the boards who speedskates and can educate us on the strategy/rules and all around ins and outs of the sport!
I figureskated at your age, (I still go to the rinks in the winter and mess around a bit) so I know exactly what you mean about that feeling of flying- without actually leaving the ground. Skiing feels the same way when everything is "clicking" just right. Looking forward to hearing your insights here.

Hey guys!  I've posted on the forum a few times, but haven't properly said hi yet. i'm kendra (ohno911groban) from good ol'canada (also go by the nickname of KC too) first time I saw apolo...i think was at the 02' olympics, but didn't really get "interested" until the premiere of DWTS. I am also a huge Johnny Depp fan as well (I know I'm not the only one out there)  . I have to say what interests me about Apolo is his focus, dedication, wisdom, perseverance, integrity, and I loooove the fact that he's not afraid to try something new. I also really like the story behind him, that when you give 100%, dedication, and sacrifice, anything is possible. I'm perservering to be like that...one day...(gotta get through university first  .. anyone else like that? |

Cristi, bcmama, Karen and Kenda (and any other new comers I missed), welcome. I'm Bella. Hope you all have fun here. Sounds like you all have some great reasons for being Apolo fans. I know many of us here share your sentiments. I encourage each of you to explore around in the older thread (some of them are hilarious) or start your own. Also, you might want to read through the guidelines just to familiarize yourself with our modus operandi. Most important, dive right in and don't be shy - we're always looking for a new angle from which to admire our boy.

Welcome to bcmama, Kendra, and Karen. This is a great group of people and a fun board to join. (It's my first and only MB, too.) Some posts will have you laughing, some teary-eyed. It was great to read how you came to love Apolo. He's an inspiration to us all!

Hey everyone, I am new here and here's a little about me: I have been an Apolo admirer since '02 when he was in my 'backyard'. I loved his enthusiasm for life and the sport, his determination to accomplish anything he set his mind on, his courage to be himself and not let his 'status' affect him, and that he has overcome many trials with a good attitude and optimism. That is how I try to live my life and I owe that to him because he has shown me life is always unexpected and to make every day count,etc. This has been a difficult year for me, but seeing Apolo on DWTS and seeing how he persevered made me think and really change my attitude. I mean that respectfully and ' straight up' and not cheesey or trite!!!
I have done a little acting, I love to dance, sing (in an empty room, LOL!), and I used to skate for fun but I had foot surgery and my big toe is stiff so I haven't skated much since. But anywho, I am a happy person and life is good! That's me in a nutshell. Later y'all!
