When I was in high school MANY MOONS ago ( since I am the ancient one here ) I helped my jazz dance teacher teach the jazz dance club after school. It was so cool. I like to do that alot, actually. I can see stuff in my head when I hear music...yeah, I know it sounds weird, but I can. All I need is a room after that and a wall of mirrors and I can do a dance routine with several people in it in about a half hour, 45 minutes.
Just like if I am listening to music while doing ANY of my artwork, certain music makes me see things in my head. There is a term for people like me ( me and some of my Live Journal friends were discussing this the other day ) and two of my British Live Journal friends are like me, as well. I wonder if this is common amongst artists or not. I have NO IDEA, really. I just know that I've ALWAYS been like this. I process stuff very audibly/visually, and then, it comes to me mentally and not the other way around.

I choreographed when I was in HIGH SCHOOL, Sintha. Yes, I can still dance, I do it all the time. And I just went and looked in my Brit friends LJ to see what she said that term was that she, I and one of her friends are ( but I'll be d**ned if I could find it in MY dictionary, but hey...mine is kind of OLD ). The term is called "synaesthetic". I didn't even know there WAS a term for it. I had no idea anyone else DID what I do. I thought I was just some "odd being" or something. But nice to know I am NOT alone, know what I mean? It's just now I am curious as to how many other people process certain information in their brains like that, for whatever reason, know what I'm saying? I know, I am odd, I think oddly and I think ODD thoughts...can't help it, I don't know how to be any other way but who and what I am, I'm afraid!

I can watch ballet and my daugther has done ballet and modern dance but I have no interest in doing ballet myself. I've done jazz, modern and of course the "dances of my generation"....like that "Who" song ( jeez, now I'm REALLY dating myself HERE )..."Talkin' 'bout my GENERATION". I am a relic of a by-gone era, but PROUD OF IT! ;D

Seeing Apolo stretch out like that remind me of stretching before dancing. When I was in high school, I was a member of the dance team. I loved competition season because we danced about 5 routines for one meet. I dance ballet, jazz, modern, and hip-hop. I messed up a knee and ankle, so I can't do many of the leaps in ballet.

Hip/Hop is the best music to dance to. Very upbeat. I like it.

It so funny hearing you people talk about dancing and hip hop dancing and hip hop, so many interpretations.
This is all so different from my background and where I'm from.

Woah, can anyone else see that vain poppin out of his leg?!?!?! LOL. Yes, I can see the vain in his leg. Gosh, he looks so young in that pic. Hey Crims, why is it different? I have relatives in Chicago, and I've been there too.
