There's that hairy chest again - and you know, he's only 25 (and younger than that in these pictures), he'll only get hairier with age - unless he keeps waxing, lol! so I'll have to be on the lookout for that. Whew lordy, I love all these gorgeous photos! This place rocks!!

He is just so breathtakingly beautiful. I'd love to hear more about people's encounters with him and if his features are as gorgeous and perfect as they appear to be in pictures and clips While Apolo looks more 'grown up' with the shorter hairstyle, my preference will always be the long, long hair. He has a beautiful mane...no doubt well cared for by Yuki. Hey Lexi: As you know, I had the chance to stand next to him once at the Seattle airport several years ago. This was before he was anywhere near as well known as he is now. He clearly did not want to be noticed, so we all pretty much left him alone. He did have on a wool beanie and yes, the hair was long and curled out at the back. Looked very soft. As I ever so slyly peeked to my right, the thing I noticed was the eyelashes. Even with quick peeks, you could not help but notice them. I was also surprised that he seemed about as tall as me and I'm 5.6'. I always had the idea that he was taller than that. But yes, the hair was long and he was to die for! I stood there and watched my luggage go round and round and round and round.... - no way I was moving before he did! Raingirl

Raingirl Thanks so much for that tidbit of information Raingirl. To say I'm envious would be an understatement. Do you mind, if you can, elaborating on this part: He clearly did not want to be noticed, so we all pretty much left him alone. Also, did he always have a 'following' in Seattle? I know you said at the time you met him he wasn't as well known, but I'm suspecting he was already quite a household name in his hometown before the rest of us had the pleasure of being introduced to him. I'm just trying to picture you standing there as your luggage circled the carousel again....and again...and again. Even then he had an effect on people!

This happened back before I was a teacher - still in corporate life - and I was flying back and forth from Seattle to Denver at least once a week - on United airlines. I had to check bags in Denver because the flight was totally full (and I was late) so there I am standing waiting for my luggage in Seattle, tired and ready to move on. Standing there, I happened to notice that the guy in front of me to the right had beautiful hair. (One of my biggest regrets in life is that I didn't figure out sooner who it was and immediately look farther down if you know what I mean.) He had on a hat but I could tell it was long and seemed very thick. The person in front of me to the left got their bags so I stepped up to the carousel and was just standing there waiting and happened to look to my right. The guy next to me was looking down - not making eye contact with anybody. I remember thinking - gosh, not only does he have beautiful hair, but really long eyelashes. Then it hit me and I about fell to the floor. You know how people just look down when they don't want to converse and want to be left alone? That's what he looked like. I figured he was tired and glad to be back home. One of the things Apolo has said about coming home is that people do pretty much leave him alone. I did take several looks in his direction, kind of pretending I was looking for someone off in the distance. It took a few minutes for his bag to show up and I know mine went around several times. I was dying to turn to somebody and ask them it they realized who that was but held back. I'm sure that was my only chance since I suspect his days of waiting at the Seattle airport for his luggage with all the rest of us are long gone. So sad. As for how tall he is, his eyes seemed about level with mine. Maybe he was an inch or so taller - but not where you would notice. Yes, we probably were much more aware of Apolo before the rest of the country. The curious thing about Seattle, though, is that with the exception of skiing, winter sports are not big here. We are a coastal community - fortunately we only have to go 30 minutes East and we're in mountains with snow - but ice skating is not really big here. So I don't know that as many people were aware of him as you might think. Obviously, over the last several years, that has changed. Fortunately, I had had the good taste to zero in on Apolo immediately so had been following him for quite awhile - even before 2002. We probably do see more in the media about him. I think he has known some of the media here for a long time and has some trust with them. The guy who did the KOMO reports during DWTS was a sportscaster for a long time before he switched to general reporting. He does seem very relaxed with the folks here and has shown a bit more of the fun Apolo than some of the national media might have been prior to DWTS. That's the story. Oh, to be have been that close to perfection once in my life.............

Oh that's such a cool story raingirl. thanks for sharing it.
It's absoluetly brilliant that you let your bags go around and around until he left. smooth move. hehe
