Can't wait to hear David sing Crazy. He auditioned with that and they never cleared it so we could hear it. I always wondered why. Then Jason got it cleared for the tour. Looking forward to this. And by the way, I was just kidding about Stand By Me... of course anyone can sing it.. still loving the original.

.. .a lot for oldies but the crowd is fun and it's free. At the end they broke into Stand By Me and I'm thinking WAIT.. you can't sing that.... It's David's song! And of course they did not swing into Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls, that I am now addicted to ,in SBM..
...Would that we could get that close to the Idols in concert.

But, you're right, that is the way I think of a lot of the songs covered by David!   With all the online hype regarding the concerts, ticket sales may kick up a notch! I was really lucky to have some good selection of choice seats just the week before showtime here. SLC had sold out the first day in 20 MINUTES!!! How are ticket sales going at your end?? I hope you get up close! I can't wait to hear David's "Crazy" too! There's been a lot of discussion online as to why Jason got it cleared instead of David. I'm getting really curious about David's new song "Crush", out in less than a month! |

From FanBlast this morning, regarding why David couldn't sing the song, "Crazy" on AI:
"We heard that Nigel Lythgoe declared that David’s version of “Crazy” was one of the best auditions he had ever heard; Josiah Leming raved about it; Randy and Paula gave him a standing ovation and Simon bestowed one of his stunned, “I’m very serious about this one” looks. But the AI producers could not gain the proper permission to broadcast David’s much-heralded version, and we were left with the biggest teaser in the history of AI (well, at least I think so, don’t you?) But the wait is now over, as we all probably know! FINALLY! David Archuleta will appear in their television studio on Tuesday, July 15th at 11:00am to sing “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley. You can also e-mail the studio a question to ask David. The best part: after the show, Studio 5 will show the performance on their website in the “video box,” so tune in!"

This past Wednesday, hubby and I went to our local Indian Casino for a little celebration... along with 2 'free' lobster/king crab buffet dinners. As I was cashing in my winnings (got really lucky!), above all the 'racket' of the casino, I heard a familiar voice singing on the PA system. It was Cookie singing his now-famous, "TIME OF MY LIFE"! I looked around to see if anyone would recognize the music they were hearing...  At least, I ENJOYED IT!!! ;D

Lily- I hear Time Of My Life in the regular rotation on the NYC "Fresh" radio station so Cook is getting good play here. I've been watching the sales of David's upcoming CD (DA) and that is amazing. My seats for Hartford are close up on the side... I'm too short to do floor if everyone's standing. Minneapolis are producers tix that my sister scored. For Bridgeport I'm just ambling over there day of ,by myself, and will look for a single ticket that's been turned back, usually by some agency. That venue is small enough that any seat is pretty good. Perhaps I'll get up the nerve to drive over to Newark too but that's a bit obsessive, eh? But then would I do it to watch Apolo race? You bet.

I've been watching the pre-sale for DA too... it truly is amazing... I hope the CD sales continue to do well, so that he's career will take off! I'm giving his CDs as Christmas gifts, so I pre-ordered 5 copies! I'm so happy for you, that you'll get to see more than one show! Who would've thought Sacramento audience would go nuts! I grew up in Stockton, 50 miles south, never dreaming that the peeps in Central California would give the Idols such a welcome! Good luck in Bridgeport (for your ticket)... I've done well in the past, just going for that last-minute single seat... just like in San Diego! "bit obsessive" doesn't really count in this case, if you want to see the two Davids perform together, MJ, JC too! Yesterday, I even thought... if it weren't for the horrific gas prices and investments taking such a hit, I should've planned to go to SLC for the two shows tomorrow and Tuesday... talk about obsessive!!! |

David Archuleta was on Good Day Utah/Fox 13 this morning! ;D
He sang a soulful version of "Crazy" (by Gnarls Barkley) and also "Waiting On The World" (by John Mayer), his San Diego Audition song. His performance was shown via live streaming video on Fox's website.
He is (apparently) singing "Crazy" again tomorrow on Studio 5/KSL.
In spite of the early morning hour, he was in great voice.
"GOSH"... he doesn't rest much between concerts! ;D

Well, I'm dumbfounded!!! (I thought something was strange b/c the 'text' on the website had changed.) Fox 13 has already cut out the interview with David and his dad, Jeff! It was a great interview, regarding how the stage-dad thing was totally blown out of proportion... and David backs his Dad, and even pats his DAD on the shoulders! That was so cute and touching! (Maybe they cut it out b/c of this touchy subject.) They also talk about David's past, present and future... a lovely interview. I wish I had taped it in time (before the cut) but I had to go out on a little business. Maybe it'll be put back in?   At least, the song is still there. number1 - now, David A's weather forecast link doesn't work... must've cut that out too! I did get to see all of it and it was great. I hope you got to view the entire interview portion! |

You guys are so awesome posting all the Archie links. I think I'll just come here from now on for my fix! I thought David A. did a fantastic job on his two songs today. Surprisingly though, it was Crazy I was dying to hear, but Waiting on the World to Change that I ended up preferring. Both were simply AMAZING though. Besides, it was Archie's version that's been talked about for months on end, with fans praying the day would come it would finally get clearance so that he could perform it. It isn't something new in the past week. I'm a bit worried how David's voice is going to hold out for another 43 shows.  Some fans are already reporting a bit of hoarseness. Why do I have a feeling it will give out as soon as he arrives in Toronto? GAH!! David's father Jeff seems like a sweet guy. I couldn't get over how soft spoken he is. It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And Archie as the weather guy - Priceless! He is too adorable for words. It was reported that a lady crapped on Carly for spending too much time with David and being a 'bad influence' on him. Can you even imagine? I really think some fans take all of this a bit too far. They treat him like he is a 5 year old kid. I recall being on a board where some members were upset after hearing that some teen fans were going to throw things on stage. The older fans actually talked about sending a note to the fanboards begging them not to do this as it would embarrass David. I could only roll my eyes. He's almost 18 years old!! That's not exactly a child. Sometimes I wish they'd lay off him and just let him enjoy the ride. This is what he signed on for. He's already got two parents looking out for his well being. |
