I sorta, kinda liked it too - in an unsettling sort of way.
He is going to be in a Russian prime time soap opera of sorts and has to learn to speak with more enunciation. He says he is learning to speak with his mouth "plugged" - something is lost in translation there. But when you think about it, when he speaks his lips don't move a whole lot, probably difficult to understand from an acting perspective. I doubt he will make a career of acting or singing, but stranger things have happened. He's pretty darn cute!

Overcome is my all time favorite Yagudin number. This was performed on 12/24 in Russia. Not bad for someone who had his hip replaced 6 months ago! youtube.com/watch?v=rCMr446bTo8

I love the music and Alexei's interpretation is, as always, spot on. The footwork down the middle still gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I've seen it.

Yep, I get goose bumps watching this program also. So special. Ha, Ha Mtnme! I have been away all day, just got home at 10:30pm pst, and have just finished reading through all of todays events. Whew! Glad I wasn't around to volley, I think I've expressed my thoughts on this topic and hope that portion of the thread dies. But I'm always open for a good, healthy debate and love differing opinions as long as it doesn't get too nasty, too personal or hurtful to others. Peace Out...

NO! NO! NO! Dead kittens....dead kittens...dead kittens...!!!!! Please tell me he's not turning this into a career! The one time I saw it was cute....to continue with it really cheapens him in my opinion and turns him into a B-lister. I think now that he has an injury that's force him out of competition and now that he's lost the spirit of the professional challenges, he's grasping at straws. I wish he'd coach or something. That's where his talent lies.

I was looking for some figure skating clips the other day and came across this on YouTube. Isabelle Brasseur was (and still is) one of my very favorite skaters. Well it looks like her young daughter has taken up where her Mom left off. To quote Kristy here, the fearless gene from Mom has definitely been passed on to daughter. WOW! Talk about adorable! Check Gabby out at 2:10. Keep in mind she's only 6 years old! www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWubS5z08koHere is some vintage Brasseur and Eisler. My all-time favorite pairs skaters and the most exciting to watch with all of their jaw dropping moves. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj4pqMdyfK4&feature=related

I know that he is taking acting lessons. I think he is just figuring out what he wants to do next. It may be a B lister to us here, but in Russia he is huge and they may view it differently. He has said he definitely does NOT want to coach. Time has a way of changing things, but I think he would go into some other type of business before he would coach. He has a lot of real estate in various parts of the world and has started a transport business in Russia. Time will tell... Did you see the Bereshnaya and Sale vids? I am going to watch yours now.
