why thank you, lindsey! i must be honest, my spelling is a point of pride. grammar is a constant battle (i refuse to capitalize online when not writing emails...so don't even ask. ), but spelling is my best friend. i like kipling and rumi...and my mom like this eastern european woman who's name escapes me. my eldest sister like lawrence. and can you go wrong with shakespeare? but angelou. she's just so "i am womyn, hear me rawr! oh, and no one's had it harder than me so pity me at the same time," you know? although i liked some of the poetry she contributed to Peotic Justice. ee cummings. i just don't care for that crap.

Bella, I love your new nick! I'm an evening/night person too. Maya Angelou I love and respect very much. Personally, I believe her to be very talented. Reading her books was like a rite of passage when I was growing up. She wrote about her life and simply told it like it was. If it came across as unpretty it's probably because those were unpretty times. If it looked like she was crying a river, it's most likely because there were rivers to cry back then. We're talking about a time when not everyone was treated very fairly. I don't think she was seeking pity. I believe she was showing the reader that in spite of obstacles, still... like air... you can rise. I do understand that her writings are not for everyone. If Angelou is not your cup of tea then I respect that. Perhaps you're more of a chamomile?

i'm more of a "pretty, not crying a river" poetry. or skip the stupid poetry entirely as it is queer.

i don't have any specific verses for kipling other than the ever-popular "if." i have a book of rumi poems, "the essential rumi" i believe. i enjoyed quite a few from there. even if some border on the extremely odd.
as far as the jewelry, sometimes i just have to spend money. i'm going back to school and feel the need to splurge before i get back to the grind. i had the lady custom make the pendant and i'm sort of scared that it won't be right, she's supposed to call me tuesday. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
