Anyone got a green thumb?
Tell about what you planted or what's already growing in your garden, window box, etc. I planted some sunflowers and I have ivy and daisies on my balcony.

LOL...now you are talking my language. Do I have a green thumb? I have a very large, successful web site totally dedicated to some of the plants I grow. Check it out. www.sd1new.net/garden_page.htmIt gets thousands of hits a week from all around the world. It is used as a reference by school classes. I have had pictures from it used in publications withing the US, in China, and and Australia. To say the least, I am very proud of it. Just this past weekend I harvested, onions, potatoes and some of my peppers from my veggie garden. I should be able to get some tomatoes mext week as they are almost ready. LOL. Don't get me started. I could go on and on

I've got bonsai trees, grapes (merlot, gewurtztraminer, and table) chives and rosemary. I also have trees, one of each:pecan, fuji apple, pear, golden plum, plus my neighbor's d'anjou pear and prune plum that hang over my fence. YUM!

Sara I love your site. Your garden is lovely.
I love to garden as well. My current garden includes a bleeding heart bush, several different varieties of roses, tiger lilies, day lilies, cone flowers, pink daisies, petunias and geraniums.
When we have a nice day I'll post a picture. (We've had nothing but rain lately!)

Little sunflower weeds Rach? We call those dandelions, you can make wine out of them! ;D Or, just propogate them, and sprinkle their seeds in your neighbor's yard (only if you don't like them) My neighbors have beagles that bay all day long. I think they need some dandelions? Or just a slingshot and frozen grapes for the dogs? ;D

You guys make me so jealous with this post! I wanna garden, too! I used to have a little herb growing kit when I was a kid and I grew basil and possibly dill. It was awesome. My dad has a greenhouse behind his house and he grows all these b!tchin' flowers. Grapes for dogs, lol. You ain't right, Torino

You can grow any herb, or tomato you want in a pot Ruff! Just try it! Make sure you keep them well-watered.
And the grapes for the neighbors dogs? You DO know I'm talking about painful projectiles, right? Evil dogs, evil evil evil.

It's also funny in the sense that, have you ever seen a dog try to eat a grape? *gobble, spit, gobble, spit* LMAO. I should grow cat nip and get my cats stoned. They'd really, really like me for that

Cats loooove to get stoned like that. GROW CATNIP! It's hilarious. My big cat, got stoned one night, then laid down in front of a basket, and just stared at it (within 2 inches) for over an hour.

I tried growing cat nip for my cat, but it is i the mint family, and like mint, it tried to take over my herb garden. It has been 3 years and I am still pulling it up. If you grow it, be sure to keep it in a pot and don't let it go to seed like I did. And to top it all off, my cat couldn't have cared less. Just turned up her nose.
