I saw "Get Smart" a week ago, and I thought it was hilarious. I laughed all the way through the movie, sometimes until the tears came. Steve Carell totally nails the role of Maxwell Smart. My one complaint is that Anne Hathaway really doesn't have the comedic range for this particular role. She's better later on in the movie when her character softens up, but early on when she has to have a more brittle type of humor, she can't quite manage it. But in the end it doesn't matter because this is such a fun summer movie. Go see it!

Get Smart looks like a funny movie, love that Steve Carell! How was The Rock(Dwanye Johnson) in it?
Rach I like your new avi! Thats a pretty cool scene where he stops the car. It was hard to hear the last vid so I didn't hear everything they said but I'll try again.

Anyone see Atonement? I heard it's really good. I saw it, but it's not as good as Titanic. They keep sayin it is, it's not. But the acting is amazing! Jenna, I agree. I was a little disappointed by Atonement. I recently saw No Country for Old Men, which was pretty good but quite violent.

Rach & Lisam, thanks for posting the Twilight links.....my daughter has read all the books in that series and can't wait for the new one coming out Aug. 2, so I'm sure we'll be seeing the movie in December. And Rach, I love your new avi.....it's really cool! I'm looking forward to the new Harry Potter movie too. The Dark Knight looks pretty good......Heath Ledger's last movie.

The Dark Knight looks good too...so sad about it being Heath's last movie. I think he died in the middle of making it so I wonder how they finished it.

Lisam, The Rock did just fine in "Get Smart"...he's very easy on the eyes, too. The previews for "The Dark Knight" looked good. Heath Ledger did an amazing job of portraying "The Joker" from what I could see. He did a very contemporary take...it's not like Jack Nicholson's interpretation at all. Wiki has some interesting comments on his performance that I agree with (just having seen a taste of it.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Knight_(film)I saw "Wall-E" this weekend, and I think the film critcs and I must have seen two different movies, because they absolutely loved it, and I didn't. I've seen a number of animated movies that were much more entertaining than this one. The character of the robot Wall-E reminded me of E.T. a little -- the voices are eerily similar -- but I was left thinking that I'd rather have been seeing E.T. yet again as opposed to this effort. I found it overly preachy, too, and the movie's treatment of overweight people was downright offensive. JMO.

Interesting reading Susie about how Heath prepared for the role. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with his death...just a thought. It will be nice to see a tribute to Heath, I'll probably cry too.
I haven't seen Wall-E and I don't really want to. I'm not seeing anything that great about it. I think a lot of people feel the same way...Pixar has made some great movies in the past so you think they'd be able to come up with something better.

lisam, my best friend likes to blame that role for his death all the time. It's sadened. cause I know we'll both be crying. I didn't think this role is right for him. He's more of a good guy.

Lisam & Jenn, while Heath was filming the Dark Knight he said that playing the Joker really took an emotional toll on him because it was such a "dark" character and he had to take sleeping pills just to sleep a couple hours a day, so I guess this role did contribute to his death in a way. Makes me wonder.....if he didn't make this movie would he still be alive? I think it might be the movie role and losing his wife. or was it his girlfriend? I guess they didn't love each other anymore. And his wife probably took his little girl away too. but I do blame the role. That is a REALLY dark charactor. I think of him as more of a good guy, prince kindof. I do miss him....

I remember first watching Heath in the movie 10 things I hate about you. His character was sarcastic, yet down to earth. He seemed down to earth in real life. It's sad what happened to him...losing sleep, taking meds, and all of the inner turmoil that was going on inside. I feel for Michelle Williams, and their little girl. He was one of a kind. That role looks dark, yet amazing. I want to see the movie, and will probably cry... I love the movie Queen of the d**ned. Oddly enough Aailyah played a dark role in the movie. She was the Queen vampire...Akasha. She was amazing. She got killed in a plane accident after I think shooting a video for one of her songs...so I think of her after this happened to Heath...gone too soon.
oddly enough...wall-e didn't seem that good to me in the previews. the robot thing looks cute. but it doesn't look like it's very good. sorry it was a bust for you susie.
