The best show I never watched: 24. How on earth did I miss 24?? This is SO my kind of show! The drama, the action... it's amazing. Right now I'm catching it late night on the weekends, but I'd love to see it from the start. Here's the thing though, each episode stands alone so well that it doesn't hurt you much not to have caught it from the start. Even a brand new viewer will get the gist of it in the first few minutes, and after that just sit back and enjoy the ride. Love 24!
There are two other programs that I enjoy in a very odd way: Desperate Housewives and Bones. What's odd is that I love the storylines, but hate, and I mean HATE the characters. The women of DH are far too selfish and unpleasant for me to ever warm up to. The characters on Bones are obnoxious for the sheer sake of being so. However they both have storylines that make me want to return for more. The trick is knowing when to hit the mute button.
One show that managed to create the perfect blend of plot and characters for me: Ugly Betty. I am a big Ugly Betty fan! When I first heard of it I looked at the title and said "Whoa... that's way harsh", but I did my homework and discovered that Ugly Betty shows have been around forever in other countries and the lead character is generally the most beautiful of the bunch. The cast of our Betty is mostly made up of talented unknowns which adds much to it's charm. America and Vanessa are better known and both are brilliant in their roles. This season ended with so many cliffhangers that I lost count of them, and I can't wait until Fall when it comes back.

I had to laugh, as I am just as addicted to shows with truly obnoxious characters. HOUSE - talk about a snide, condescending little weasel. But I love him to death! At least he has the brains to back up the 'tude', which is a prerequisite for me in regards to men in general. The other is " BOSTON LEGAL". These guys are beyond obnoxious - they're downright TWISTED, bordering on Nuts!

I totally see what you mean. Dr. House is a smart man in a way that suggests that he'd be just as smart a man had he never gone anywhere near med school. However, the kids on Bones are trying so hard to act clever that they don't come across as very informed at all.
Boston Legal is good when I remember to watch it. William Shatner as Denny Crane makes the entire show. The rest I can take or leave.

August, 24 is on the A&E channel Mon-Fri at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. if you want to catch some of the older episodes. Right now they're in the middle of season 3. They might start from the beginning once they get through all the old episodes. I just happened to turn to that channel one day when 24 was on and I've been addicted to that show ever since! I usually record it in the morning, then watch it later in the day.

I am a die-hard Lostie. How awesome was the season finale?! Added bonus: I've gotten to see them film a few episodes around town.
My other 2 can't-miss shows are So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With the Stars.
From TV shows past: Dark Angel and Sex and the City. I'm looking forward to the SATC movie. Jason Lewis is such a hottie! He will be in the movie, yes?

Best show ever on TV: I Love Lucy. Somehow, no matter what I've been through, I just turn on an episode and she makes me laugh. She has always been my idol, and to think she was born only an hour from me in Jamestown (which I never knew until I was much older). Presently, I never miss DWTS, and Ghost Whisperer. American Idol was great, but this last season kind of turned me off with the Sanjaya mess, so not sure I will care this year.

Some new tv shows are coming up that I'm going to try and watch. Bionic Woman, I loved the old series with Lindsey Wagner and am looking forward to seeing it. Another one that looks good to me is Journeyman on NBC. They both start the same week as DWTS and Smallville. I'm so excited for Smallville to start again! I'm so addicted to that show, I don't know what I'm going to do when the series ends. LOL
I agree with you ohnoagain about American Idol, I'll probably watch it but I'm not that excited about it anymore. Season 5 was the best one IMO and I don't think any others will even compete.

angelina, you're right about the Lost season finale...it was awesome. During the whole episode I just figured they were showing flashbacks like always, and then in the last few minutes I realized it was actually in the future. So now we know at least some of the people do actually get off the island. ohnoagain, I love Ghost Whisperer...I've watched it from the beginning and never miss it. Her husband on that show is such a cutie. lisam, I'm looking forward to Smallville too. I watched it every week the first three seasons and then I kinda slacked off a bit, but I've been watching the reruns over the summer and can't wait for the new season to start. I think Bionic Woman and Journeyman look like good shows too. Another new show I might watch is Cane. I loved Jimmy Smits when he was on NYPD Blue.

butterfly, I went WHOA as well! Blew me away!
I'm also a huge HGTV junkie. Right now I like Colorsplash, David Bromstad's show. He was last season's "Design Star."
I also love Candice Olsen's show, Divine Design. She is such a doll ... and a genius.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next Project Runway as well.

Colorsplash with David Bromstad, what can I say ... YYUUMM ... he's soooo cute and talented and seems soooo sweet. Right he was last years Design Star to get his own show. Last night was the final show for the new stars ... I think I'm going with Kim for the win. How about you? Divine Design with Candice Olsen is fabulous. She is brilliant and like you said a doll and a genius. My husband says she is the best designer on tv. He loves her show. I wish she could come an decorate my home for me. We're having a house completely gutted an renovated to live in and I sure could use her help. Getting back to David Bromstad ... if I could have two pictures on my wall besides my husband, of course, it would be Apolo and David. Girls if you haven't seen him you have to check him out. I have to learn how to put pictures on here so I can share him. I'm really not suppose to be online and doing any typing. I had totally stopped a month ago, doctors orders, I had deleted my account, lost all my Post Cout and Karma but I had to stop. But then I thought maybe I can just read a little. Then I just recently started in little dribs and drabs. But I could not hold myself back when I saw that you like Color Splash with David and Divine Design with Candice Olsen. We have something else in common. Cool.

I also love Candice Olsen's show, Divine Design. She is such a doll ... and a genius. Angelina - I didn't even realize you would get Divine Design where you are. Isn't Candice the bomb? Are you familiar with Sarah Richardson - another Canadian? Her show "Design Inc." is my favorite of the decorating shows. www.designinc.ca/home/The amazing thing about Sarah is that she has she has no interior design education. She graduated with a BA in Visual Arts in Toronto and then started working as a set designer in television. A friend who also worked in TV asked if she wanted to host a television show and that started her career. The Designer Guys are quite good too to say nothing of being eye candy! design.designerguys.com/dg/theguys/theguys.php

Lexi, yes, we get the whole gamut of HGTV shows. I think I've seen a couple of episodes of Design Inc. but I'll be on the lookout for more. Yes, Candice is totally the bomb! I love her whole team too - the painter, the carpenter, the electrician, the seamstress ... they seem like such a fun and talented group. tippytappytoes, YUMMMM is right! What a bonus that he loves to wear tank tops (or go shirtless altogether). Not that I'm shallow or anything ... I haven't watched the Design Star finals yet; I taped it and might watch it later today. I'd love for Kim to win too. Yikes, what happened? Carpal tunnel syndrome? I hope you are doing better. I'm sorry that you lost your karma. I've sent you some.

I'm sorry that you lost your karma. I've sent you some. It was you who sent me some karma ... sweet. Now I don't look like a big 0. No, not carpal tunnel. I need to have some discs fused in my neck and I've been suffering with a migraine since Aug. 7th. They put me on a new medication ... Amerge ... and this morning thank God, I woke up and my head is feeling better so let's hope and pray and cross our that it has passed. I saw Colorsplash last night. David was looking soooo cute just like Apolo cute. I seem to cling to every word he says like when Apolo talks ... ya know what I mean.
