I have yet to read the Silmarillion though, and the Elves in Tolkein's books fascinated me the most. Had to love Lady Galadriel and Legolas. Have you read the Silmarillion Rose 1966?

I have not read it, though my 13 year old son is reading it now. It is very deep and time consuming so he reads it awhile and then takes a break and reads something else but he always ends up coming back to the Silmarillion. I want to read it some day but just can't take the time to read such a time consuming, deep book right now. I love the Elves, too (though the hobbits have first place in my heart). They are wonderful, graceful, mysterious...

I recently picked up The Da Vinci code (after a lot of people recommended it and because I wanted to read it before the movie comes out), and it's a pretty good read. I can't seem to put it down because it draws you so into the story. If you want to, I suggest reading this if you haven't already.

($5.50 at costco!!... what a deal...) it's pretty good so far, but it's kinda annoying that it's so smilar to da divinci code... hopefully it's not going to be too similar...

I'm not that religious either, but it's interesting on how history plays out. I'm not saying that the book is 100% accurate (because we never know obvously)... but it definitely makes you think about a lot of things in general.

i dont know if i really want to see the movie. do you know who they cast as silas (the monk)? Paul Bettany. the same guy that played the skinny chaucer in knights tale, that guy in wimbledon!! i couldnt stop laughing for a good 10 mins. he's so tiny, i think i could break him in half! but then again, i heard he bulked up for the part... but how big can he get?

I'm a 30 year old writer who deeply enjoys writing books and fanfic. I love C.S, Lewis' books, especially "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". I love old Destiny's Child, P!ink (her earliest work, not the obscene stuff), and Jaci Velasquez. I'm hopelessly addicted to my MP3 player, Star Wars and the 1960's Star Trek.

Welcome, FabulousandThick. I have seen you post around the forum but I don't think I have officially welcomed you. Thanks so much for telling us a bit about your non-Apolo passions. And, as one who has dabbled a bit in writing, I am delighted to meet a writer.
