Majory stood in the mirror. Her nervous fingers plucking at the hem of her new dress. Her hair was tied back with strands gently swaying at the nape of her neck. She was wearing the necklace. The new shoes. And a new perfume. Her mom walked in smiling away at her.
"Ah, my daughter, you are so beautiful. Ready to be romanced?"
"Um, sure." She slid her eyes down. Uncomfortable. She knew that her mom and Damen had dinner planned just for the two of them. Not only nervous for herself, but for her mom as well.

Apolo pulled up in his suv, jumped out and opened the door for Majory. Who in turn gave a shy smile. Her clean scent teasing him as she slid into the leather seat. Apolo smiled behind his hand and opened the driver's side door. What a time for her to turn shy on him.
The drive there was quiet, but smooth. Tourists sought things to buy along the sidewalks. The air was soft and smelled of the water. And to the west, the sun sank gently into the waves. Majory adored the sight. Soon enough they arrived to Apolo's. She let him help her out of the passenger's side. His grip firm yet gentle at the same time. Nails clean and neatly cut. Majory nevered tired of looking at his gorgeous jaw line. She reached out and traced it.
Apolo turned those hazel eyes her way. She sighed. "I still can't believe the reality of this Apolo. Why me?"
He smiled, giving that sexy look. "For one thing you are so captivating. Another, you are such a great person. Inside and out. Yes you're easy on the eyes. But there's so much more. I want you to be the mother of my children. Grandmother to their children. I know deep inside, no matter what, you'd be there for them."
Tears pooled in her eyes. "Oh, Apolo." She pulled him close, closed her own eyes and he cupped her face, and kissed him gently, biting his lip teasingly. "So, you got a surprise for me?"

He led her up to the front door. Took her hand and kissed her fingertips. Majory smiled. "You're making me nervous!" He only smiled at her, and opened the door. She had no choice but to follow. And sighed at the sight that greeted her. Flowers, of all kinds, all around her. Daisies, jasmine, roses, tulips, even a rare iris. Majory cooed at the floral arangement. Then took a deep breath. Yellow and white, her favorite. And a secret love for deep violet colored flowers.
Apolo grinned as her arms wrapped around him. Her breath on the side of his face. "Thank you." He then laughed.
"Oh, there's more where that came from."

Apolo lead her into the dining room. The smells reached her. All of their favorites were on the table. And then some. "There's no way we can eat all of this, Apolo." Majory said teasingly.
"That's all right, we'll eat what we want, and save the rest for tonight. I think it will be put to use."
He pulled out her chair, then sat across from her. Hazel eyes glowing with love and happiness. She knew what was coming. And was prepared, well, for the most part. "Pick what you want, there's plenty of it." Biting her lip, she looked at the dishes.
"Who made all of this?"
"Dad helped me plan this, so he did."
"Awe, Yuki. Tell him I said thank you." Apolo smiled at her. There was no way he couldn't be any more beautiful in a masculine way, could there? His hair a shining brown, hints of red from being in the sun. Slightly tanned skin. A crisp white button up shirt and black pants. The top botton on his shirt was undone. She stared at the matching freckles/moles on his clavical. Then up to the sexy little mole on his neck.
"Like what you see?" He teased. Majory blushed. Apolo thought himself average growing up, then as he trained, and gotten slimmer, he noticed the ladies, and they him. But he was still modest. Besides, he loved seeing her cheeks redden. Just a faint blush.
"Yeah, I do." She teased back. Then began chosing the food. Lettuce, chicken, green beans. And seasoned potatoes. Still not believing the quanity. Apolo chose lemon flavored fish, potatoes, and salad.
"What would you like to drink?" Apolo asked softly.
"Wine if you have some, but not much." He nodded and got up and went to get some. It was chilled, and perfect. After finishing most of the meal, she picked berries mixed with cool whip for a treat. It looked tarty and yet sweet. It burst onto her tongue. "Mmm, that's good." She said after a taste. "Try some. Just a bite." Majory lifted a fork and dug in, then brought it to his lips. He opened, then slowly took the food. She was right, it was good. Enjoyed watching her sample it, mixed with the small glass of wine she sipped. He was getting a little nervous himself.
"I'll be right back sweet." Apolo raised from the table and planted a kiss on her cheek.

Apolo checked to see if Majory was in view. She wasn't. He stood on the balcony. Knowing how much she enjoyed them. This is where it would happen. But he began to doubt himself. Began to wonder if she really wanted this to happen...
Majory sat there. Stomach full. Now that he went to do something she began to get nervous. Maybe he was thinking it over. Or even worse, changed his mind. Just thinking about it brought tears to her eyes.

They stood outside and watched the sun set. Streaks of lavender and pink glided across the western sky. A soft breeze lifted tendrils of Majory's hair from her nape. Which caused a shiver. Apolo brought her under his arm. And they stood like that until the stars twinkled, and the moon shone. "I'm so lucky to know you. You have made me a better person." He told her softly. Then brought his lips down to hers and kissed her softly. Tasting of wine.
He pulled back to stare deep into brown eyes. And her sweet up turned face. She met his soft hazel ones. And felt like crying. "I love you. Before we met, I wanted to give up on everything. Love, happiness, family. Then something changed. I've changed."
"We both have."
**********************************************************
"When I lost my best friend, I sometimes thought that should of been me. She had so much to live for, and I felt like I was dead inside. Then I found some kind of spiritual happiness, then I met you. My mom found Damien again..."
"What happened to her, was never your fault. We all go through periods in our life where things don't go our way. And we stumble. It's a journey." She smiled up at him. Then her breath hitched. She still had moments where she picked up on things. And now she knew. And was scared out of her mind.
Apolo traced her jaw line, saw Majory inhale deeply. Pupils go wide. "Majory, I've had words planned, almost wrote them down. But they can't even begin to tell what I feel for you." He took out the small back box, with out a moments hesitation. Opened it up, and inside, the jewels winked. A diamond, hugged by two yellow gems. She bit her lip, and began to cry.
"Majory, will you marry me?"
"Of course I will, Apolo." Finally she could breathe again. And waited as he pulled the ring from the box, and slid it onto her finger, where it fit perfectly. Majory held it out to stare at it. Her hand shook. It was perfect.
She laughed as she hugged him to her. And swore she felt and heard her friend's laughter in the breeze.
