Ok, this part has no Apolo in it, but he's coming up in the next part, I promise! Pt. 2 gives some insight into Jazz's (the main character) life and gives some good background information. I hope you like it! The next part will be posted tomorrow.
Pt. 2, Two years later
---------------------------
Two years later I found myself living in New York City. It was a complete change from the calm Montana lifestyle I once knew. I had just landed a job as the editor for a big news/celeb magazine, resulting in my move to my small, cramped apartment in Manhattan. At least my dog Theo could come with me -- other than that, though, I was all alone. My family and friends were all in Montana.
Two weeks into my new job -- which I found that I loved -- my boss came over to my desk and set his coffee cup down next to my computer, splashing his drink on the screen. I was curious to why he was drinking coffee on a hot August afternoon in the first place, but that was beside the point.
"Sorry about that," my boss, who told everyone to call him Stu, said. "Anyway, I have some exciting news, I guess. Next Saturday we're having a party to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the mag. It'll be at the hotel right down the street. I'll send you more info later, but it'll be a big bash. Lots of huge names. And besides the fact that you'll be editing the issue which will cover the night, you're invited...well, all the employees are."
"Wow, um, that's great! So it's a glitzy party? I Have to dress up?" I asked. I actually liked dressing up. I was a girly-girl at heart.
"Yes, dinner and lots of dancing. And bring a date if you want. Alright? Talk to you later, Jazz."
A date? Ha. I hadn't had a real relationship since high school, and here in NYC, I only had a few friends that I'd met on the job. Still, the party sounded like fun, so for the next week or so, I was looking forward to it. I was also nervous because this would probably be my first time getting up close and personal with a few celebrities. So a few days after Stu gave me the details, I went shopping. I settled on a great, sparkly black halter dress that I decided was very glamorous and a pair of red platform heels.
The night of the party, I spent hours in preparation. I got my hair curled at a salon, and although I usually am not the confident type, I thought I looked fabulous as I stepped out the door.
Good thing I tried looking my best, because when I walked in the door of the hotel to enter the party, I was shocked at who I first laid my eyes upon...

That's pt. 2! I know it's kind of short...sorry. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Oh, and the title, Electric, will come into play later. I know it's an odd title, lol.
