I’m back!!!! I had a great vacation and thanks for being so patient!
~~~~~~~
That week we worked extremely hard. The whole time Julianne was working on my upper body.
“Up! Up! Keep your arms up!”
Sighing I straightened my posture and we began to work on that section again. Though it was a hard week it really paid off. When we went out onto the stage I knew I was prepared this time and I knew what I was getting myself into this time.
The music began to play and I fell right into step with Julianne and this time it was an amazing experience. I was confident enough with my routine to feel the energy being given off from the audience and Julianne. It really did feel as if we were two hearts beating with one mind.
As the music came to an end and we were in our finishing pose I immediately went over to hug Julianne. When I did I heard her whisper in my ear.
“You did so great!”
A grin larger then life appeared on my face and I realized how happy I felt knowing that Julianne thought I did a great job. The judges gave us amazing scores and we found ourselves at number two on the leaderboard.
~~~~~
After the scoring and the show was over we found out that our dance for the week was the Jive. That night we skipped our “ritual” because we had an early morning flight to Salt Lake City where I would be training while learning the dances.
~~~~
The next morning I met Julianne at the airport and we boarded the flight without any complications. About twenty minutes into the flight Julianne had fallen asleep and her head was now resting gently on my shoulder.
I looked over at her sleeping figure and thought I had never seen anything more beautiful in my life. Her mouth was partially open and her lips were in the shape of a gentle smile. Her chest gently went up and down and I found my own breath slowing to match hers. There was no make-up on her perfect face and she looked so natural and I felt myself fighting the urge to see what those soft lips tasted like-
No, Apolo. She has a boyfriend. She is engaged for goodness sake.
But I have seen the looks she gives me when she thinks I am not looking.
That doesn’t matter. You have to keep this professional.
I sighed and a hour later when we landed I gently nudged her awake, her innocent eyes looking groggly into mine. My heart missed a beat.
“Are we there?” she said in a slightly hoarse voice. I nodded and she sat up, my shoulder suddenly feeling colder. “Sorry for sleeping on you.”
“My pleasure, you’re pretty lucky you can sleep on planes.”
She smiled and I helped her grab her luggage from the overhead compartment, our hands brushing. I felt a jolt of electricity pass though us and she must have felt it too because she pulled away quickly.
She shrugged it off as static, but I knew there was something more there and I knew hiding my feelings was going to get harder and harder.
Well what did you think? More romance, eh? *wink wink* Please leave a review!
