Dancing With The Stars: After the Finale, Chapter Six (PG-13)
A few days had passed, and Apolo decided to go with Julianne to visit her family in Utah. When they got there, everyone was trilled to see the winning couple together, except for her father.
"How was your flight? You guys must be tired.", said Debbie(Debbie Hough, Julianne's mother) in a warm and welcoming tone.
"It was fine. I'm just glad to see everyone again.", said Julianne.
"Hello Apolo. It's such an honor to see you again.", Debbie said in admiration.
"Mom, he's not the president.", said Julianne, embarrassed.
"Oh, I know honey, it's just wonderful to see him again. Bruce (Bruce Hough, Julianne's father) your daughter's here.
As Bruce came around the corner and saw Apolo, his face turned from a happy expression to a stern one.
"I see you brought your little skater friend with you.", said Bruce in a disapproving way.
"I though he might like to see where we live.", said Julianne.
"Why, it's not like he's going to live here or anything."
"Actually, um sir, I'm moving to Salt Lake to train for the 2010 Olympics.", said Apolo, a little intimidated.
"Uh-huh, I see."
Everyone basically stood in an awkward silence. Everyone was sort of afraid to say something.
"Well, I think it's time we start thinking about dinner.", said Debbie, breaking the silence. "How about you (Bruce) and Apolo go to the store. It'll give you guys a chance to, uh, get to know each other a little better."
"I'm sure it will.", said Bruce.
On the way to the supermarket:
"So, you do know Julianne is getting married soon."
"Yeah. I think she's a little young."
"Well, I don't think that's any of your concern. Now, let's get something straight, Julianne is already seeing someone, and I don't want you to think that just because you are, were, her dancing partner and that she called of her wedding that some relationship other than a partnership is going to form. It ain't happenin."
"Yes sir, there is nothing going on between us, I'm seeing someone my self."
"I knew you were the understanding type. Glad we got that cleared up. So, how was your birthday?"
After staying in Sandy (Julianne's hometown) for a few days, Apolo decided to take Julianne to Salt Lake City to see his new house, and to show her where he'll be training.
While getting of the plane, Apolo was greeted by someone expectedly, his girlfriend Thalia Suarez.
"Apolo, it's great to finally see you.", said Thaila followed by a kiss. "Congratulations on winning Dancing With The Stars. And you must be Julianne Hough."
"Julianne, this is my girlfriend, Thalia Suarez."
"Hi, nice to meet you.", said Julianne in a snobbish way.
"Well, I've got to catch my plane. I've got a interview in New York. You can walk me to the plane."
"Sure. Julianne, how about you go get us a cab, I'll be right back."
"No, she can come to. You can't just leave her in this strange place by herself.", said Thalia nicely.
"No, I'll give you two your privacy.", said Julianne sadly.
"So, what brings you two to Salt Lake?"
"I'm just showing her around."
"That's nice. She doesn't seem to happy, are you being a gentleman to her?", Thalia said jokingly.
"Yes, of course. She's just in love with me. And there's something I need to tell you."
"What?"
"We slept together, but it wasn't anything, I swear."
"It's fine. There's been something I need to tell you anyway."
"Yeah."
"Apolo, you're a nice guy and everything, but I just don't think this is working. I mean, with our busy schedules and all, we never see each other."
"Look, if this is about Julianne..."
"No, it's got nothing to do with her, it's us. I think we just need to end it here."
"But, I love you."
"I love you too, and I always will, as a friend. And about Julianne, you two are perfect for each other. Don't make a stupid mistake and let her get away. She loves you, so, just love her back. Well, that's my plane. Goodbye Apolo.
And with that, she leaves him standing there with a blank expression on his face. (you guys know the one I'm talking about)
"She seems nice.", said Julianne, not knowing what just happened. "What's wrong?"
"She broke up with me, we're over."
"Apolo, I'm so sorry."
"Yeah, we've been having problems lately, but I'm not going to blab all of this to you, we're here to have fun.
Later that night, at Apolo's house:
"That was interesting. I never new Olympic athletes had to do that."
"Yeah, we do.", said Apolo sadly.
"Are you sure you're okay."
"I just can't believe we're actually over.", said Apolo, tears coming to his eyes, "I mean, I knew we were having problems but I didn't think...
He now had had his hand over his eyes, trying to hide his emotions from Julianne, but she could tell.
"I think you need a hug, come here. There's plenty of girls out there that would die to be with you.
"Thanks Julianne."
From that very moment, Apolo realized that Thalia was right, Julianne was perfect for him, and why make the stupid mistake of letting her go.
Bravely, he leaned forward and and threw a hot, passionate kiss on her.
Realizing what is happening, Julianne pulls away:
"What are you doing?"
"Julianne, I've loved you ever since that first practice of Dancing With The Stars. I just couldn't let myself love you because I was with someone else, but now that we're over...I can.
"Apolo...I don't think I can be with you."
"What?"
"Yeah, I think it's time for me to go back to my hotel."
As she's leaving, Apolo grabs her by the arms and swings her around:
"No, I'm not going to let you go anywhere...I need you, now."
"Apolo..."
"Please Julianne, don't do this to me."
"Uh, I can't, I need you too."
With that, they passionately kiss and he picks her up and takes her away to his domain.
