Nora looked in the mirror to see Majory laying in the back seat. Her cheek laying on her hands. Wulfric laid behind her legs, chewing his paw. She looked at Kenny, her hero. He had held her hand when she gave birth. Held their daughter in his hands. They lost her at two years old. They never tried for another one. That was seven years ago, that day. Tears pricked her eyes. They said she was lucky. That everything looked fine. She was pregnant. Three months along. How would her hero feel about this? She truly hoped that he'd be happy. She'd tell him over dinner tonight. Nora had hope, courage, now that Majory was with her. She glanced back. Still upset over her. Breaking her heart. Shaking her head, she sighed, then closed her own eyes.

Apolo groaned, shaking all over, cold, he opened his eyes. Bright lights shone down on him. He must be in the OR. There were doctors and nurses. Then he remembered what he did. He didn't mean it like that. Groaning out loud got alot of attention. "Nurse," the doctor called. "He needs more, he's awake." A few moments later, all went black, but before, he had called for Majory in his mind, and softly on his lips.

Shani was the first to see Apolo, who asked for him right away. Shani glanced at his friend, who was pale, and a little sad. This worried him. He then spoke to him in a broken voice. "Could you please tell Majory that I'm fine, and that I'm sorry." He could only nod the answer. Apolo sighed. Then laid back, and said little else.

Majory's phone rang before dinner could start. She blushed, but got up and took it. It was Shani. "Hello?" Her voice wavered.
"Yeah, Apolo's fine. He's upset as hell, not to mention stupid, says he's sorry, Majory. He's looking pretty down."
Majory heard the backgroud voice, he was driving, and pretty fast. She told him to take it easy. "I'm fine." And with that he hung up on her. No details, nothing. That fast, and he had hung up. Majory sighed, hang up the phone. Then walked back into the room. Nora looked happy, though tears shone in her eyes, Keny lookes shocked. He kept blinking, and gawking. Majory shook her head, poor guy! Nora turned to her, bubbling.
"I'm pregnant Majory!" She gulped, the grape nearly choking her, she coughed, drank, then took a deep breath. Nora's eyes went wide.
Majory held up her hand, warding her off. "That's great news, I am happy for you, really!"

She smiled as she cleaned the dishes. Nora and Kenny were laughing and acting like teenagers. It was heart warming to see. They watched tv. They cuddled. They were in love. Majory sighed. What would that be like? To fall in love, get married, have a family. She felt herself smile. Then shook herself. Wulfric came into the kitchen, looking lost. He whimpered, whined, then looked at her with the saddest eyes. She picked him up, and walked out the back door. The insects buzzed, chirped, sang. It usually gave her peace, but tonight, she felt lost. Tears, silent, fell down her cheeks. She was lost with out Apolo now. And there was no way to stop her from loving him.
******************************************************************************
Majory was still crying when head lights sliced the coming darkness. Wulfric let out a growl. Then barked in happy barks. His tail wagging. The engine was still running. Shani hopped out, ran to Majory, tugged on her arm. Dazed, she went, thinking only of the man in the hospital. And how everything cried out for him. Her cell rang, still sobbing, she answered.
"Majory? What's wrong baby?"
She gasped out loud. "Apolo, oh God, Apolo!" She really sobbed then. She couldn't even speak.
"Majory," he said in the sweetest of tones. "Don't cry. Please, don't do that. I'm fine, I came out of sugery. They're trying to give me some anitbiotics." She then heard someone urging him to take it, heard him sigh, as he let in. "Uck! Those things are nasty."
Majory let out a giggle, picturing him making the face.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all."
"Well, I wanted to let you know that I'm doing fine. Didn't want to scare you any. I'd like to see you. Can I?"
"Yes. Shani has picked me up. I'm guessing that's where he's taking me now."
"Good, that's nice to know baby. I'll stay awake for you."
"No, don't-"
"Just pinch me when you get here, that way I know I won't be thinking I'm dreaming."
"Oh, Apolo." She whispered. They said their goodbyes.

She was nervous, her whole body shaking. This could be a turning point for them both. They let her into the recovery room. He laid there, looking all boyish. Her heart picked up, and swelled. Majory went to him. Tucking his hair behind his ear. He was sleeping. She bent down to whisper. "Apolo."
When that didn't work, she giggled, getting ready to pinch him, when he muttered her name in his sleep. That stopped her, his voice was haunting. Touching. Then took on a different tone. It made her blush from the roots of her hair, to her toes. She wasn't going there. Suddenly he woke up. His eyes dreamy, slightly blurred. When he focused, the color changed. They turned smoky. Majory gasped. He grabbed her arm, jerked her down, and whispered in her ear.
"I was dreaming about you, baby." She shivered all over. "Then I woke, and you were here, I don't know which I like best." He sighed, inhaled her hair, then murmured. "Sit next to me."
She got up and found a chair, pulling it near. Nearly stumbled over the look in his eyes. He then grinned.
"Not what I was thinking, but..."
"Shh!" Majory shook her head.
As soon as she hit the chair, she started to cry. "No, don't. Come here." He held out his arms. She went willingly. And laid against his chest. Sighing. His fingers tangled in her hair. Relaxing her like nothing else could. His chest rumbled when he spoke. "I am so glad you are in my arms again. I need you Majory. I spoke of your friend's name, only to ask her to help me make it through. Don't leave me, baby. I couldn't handle it." She cuddled, then slept for a few moments.
Jerking awake, she met his eyes. They turned dreamy. Soft. His lips begging for a kiss. Majory moved her face closer and closer. His hands cupping her face. One moved to her neck, causing her to get chills. He leaned up, to meet her lips. They breathed at the same moment. Her arms went around him. His hand cupped her scalp, fingers in her hair. Majory melted over the sweetest of kisses. Felt his teeth nibble her lightly. A cleared throat, and a knock had them breaking apart. Causing her to jerk up. Apolo grinned. Stretched, then purred. He actually purred. She bit back a whimper. Kimo grinned.
"Sorry about that. Majory, your mom is here." Majory jumped up, squeezed Apolo's hand, then all but ran out of the room. Her head spun, her legs weak, she was falling. Fast.
