The darkness snuck in silently, like a snake slithering past on its way to dinner. Majory shivered. Her cell phone vibrated, she looked at it. It was her dear friends' brother, Soaring Eagle. He just turned 17 days ago. Smiling, she took the call.
"Hau!" His all ready deepening voice said. "Toske yaun ksto?"
Huffing out an answer "Wish I could said 'waste' (pronounced wash-te) but that'd be a lie, I am trying to do better my dear friend."
A laugh answered her. "Finally learning the Lakota greetings, huh?"
"Only because of you Eagle, I still like to learn, teach me soon."
"Of course dear sister." Majory bit her lip as tears started to flow. "You are my sister, just as Morning Dew is my sister. She had secrets, yes?"
"Yes, she did, how is my brother doing?" Her brother was part indian himself, and was living with Soaring Eagle and the others.
"Good, he misses his sis, he's been asking for you..."
"Send him my love, tell him to call me as soon as he can, please."
"You really want that?"
"Oh yes, very much so, I need to tell him how sorry I am, he's of my blood, he's my friend. I want to learn from him also. Why do I feel as thought I belong?"
"Majory, Kindred Spirit, you do belong..."
She gasped. A young voice, so sweet and kind whispered that to her in dreams..."That name, that's my name!"
"You remember, good. I shall let you go, peace to you, from the Great Spirit."
"Peace to you, and yours, to my brother also..." The phone call ended, she sighed, and for the first time, felt peace seep into her.

Yuki glanced at her. She spoke in Lakota, he then looked closer. Her hair was so amazing. It was golden in color, with a touch of carmel. Eyes brown as the rich dirt of earth. One would think she would be white, but now you could tell, even though pale, she had coloring long neglected from the sun. It would be a tan, sandy colored, if the sun kissed her skin long enough. Her brows, though, were dark, black. So were lashes. Long fingers tipped with natural colored nails. Her ring was silver and had a teal looking stone. "You are of earth, you are part Indian..."
She jerked. "Yes, that is so? Why could I never tell?"
"Your, uh, er, mom, she had you color your hair blond, no?"
"Yes." Her voice hissed. "Now it's golden, with colors that I have not had since childhood."
"You are a bright wonderful child."
"Thanks Yuki, it's been so long since one has called me 'child.' It means a lot to me."
"You are close to son's age." He nodded.
"Yes, your son. If I call him names, please don't take it to heart, underneath it all, he is wonderful. He must get the stubborness from you, Yuki!"
He laughed, then, "Yes he does." Sighing deeply. "Are you okay. You seemed, lost, now, you are at home?"
"I have a feeling I was born here, or near, my mom hated coming to the west, pacific north west to be more exact, and says I have family in the plains." The voice never turned 'ugly', but it did change tones...

Okay, I am trying to bring out some of her as I go along. Apolo and she will meet soon enough, fireworks will fly. As in ratings, PG13.
