Well here is the first chapter of a story I've had rolling around in my head for awhile. It starts slow but I hope you enjoy it. Please take the time to review. Thanks!
Business or Pleasure - Chapter 1
It was past 6:00 PM when Katrina finally got to sit down. She shrugged off her heels and curled her legs up under her as she surveyed the piles of papers still needing attention on her desk.
Although being a junior partner at Anderson Lee Management had its perks, the amount of time spent working in the months leading up to the Vancouver Olympics had been a killer. Now with the Olympics only a month away, it felt like there was never enought time to get to all the work.
Anderson Lee Management was one of the few companies who handled management and bookings for celebrities, authors and athletes. Normally a hectic and exciting job, the time directly before and after an Olympics was the firms busiest time. Judging which athletes were the most marketable and guiding them through the whirlwind promotional events took a special talent and was something Katrina excelled at.
Katrina sighed, rubbed her eyes, brushed her long auburn hair away from her face and settled down to put in another hour or two trying to clear up her desk before she called it a day.
Just as Katrina felt she was making some headway, there was a knock on her door and Nicky Lee stuck his head in. Nicky gave Katrina a grin, “Katrina, I have a client in my office making a special request, could you please join us I would like to have your input in this discussion.” “Sure Nicky, I’ll be right there,” Katrina said as she gathered up her papers.
Katrina pulled on her heels, smoothed out her skirt and took a look in her mirror. Her light brown, almost golden eyes stared back at her. She ran a comb through her hair and touched up her lipstick. You never knew who you would be meeting in this business and she always tried to look her best when meeting with a client.
Katrina knocked on Nicky’s door and walked in as he called out to her to enter. There sitting in a chair in front of Nicky’s desk was the one person she had dreamt of, had nightmares about, cried over and hoped to never see again.
“Hello Apolo,” Katrina said in her most businesslike tone.
