Hi Maria. Thanks for the update. I wondered when we were going to get to see the autograph(s).
So you're one of those old-fashioned people who still uses rolls of film? Some of the photographers at my daughter's wedding did, too, and I haven't seen those pictures yet. It's been two weeks!
Do you know how hard it is to be patient when you're used to downloading and printing pictures whenever you want?

Be nice - b36! J/K I have to make do with what I have now. I'm in the market for a digital camera but I get too picky (pixels, user-friendly, quality, etc). I like to do my homework thoroughly before jumping on the bandwagon!

I hear ya, Maria, as a photographer who sells her stuff on the side herself, I went kicking and screaming into the digital world, only to find out that I STILL prefer my good ol' fashioned Olympus camera to my stupid digital one! Go figure...most pro's agree with me, too. Digital is STILL not always what it is cracked up to be...I love my FILM camera and I won't give it up until they QUIT making them, period!

Aw, you know I'm just teasing you, Maria. I'm an impatient person.
I agree, though, that the quality of digital pictures isn't as good as the film cameras yet. For that reason, I hope they never go entirely out of style.

You're welcome, bella. It's so nice to see Apolo adorned with lei's (sp) & that certain Hawaiian feeling is reflected so well both in his dress attire and physical appearance - he sure blends in with the locals! Here is the story that goes with those pic's: (seems like he's still interested in pursuing the sport!) " Apolo Anton Ohno liked his kalua pig and squid lu'au when he tried Hawaiian food — at Ono Hawaiian Food, of course — during his first visit to Hawai'i for the 2006 Victor Awards, where he will receive honors. After lunch, the short-track speed skater and five-time Olympic medalist talked story with Special Olympic athletes before Mayor Mufi Hannemann presented him with the key to the city. "It feels really good," he said after being in town for a day. "I look forward to coming back." What's in store for Ohno? "I'm still thinking about the possibility of competing again," he said." For more on Ohno and speed skating, you can check out his Web site: www.apoloantonohno.com. Reach Christine Terada at cterada@honoluluadvertiser.com .

- taryn, sorry but I didn't save it. I'm sure Apolo's site will have it sooner or later.
I guess Apolo's Hawaiian adventure is coming to an end. Hopefully, he will post all his awards/achievements/news from his trip for us soon!

Maria, it's funny -- I did without a digital camera for a long time, but the one thing that motivated me to get one was knowing that I was going to see Apolo *the next day*, lol. I ended up buying mine just before the store closed. It wasn't 100% what I wanted but it was pretty close. I'm still enjoying using it -- I'm planning on keeping it for a couple of years, then I'll trade up. I think that you have to know what's important to you -- I knew that optical zoom was one of my top priorities, so I chose accordingly. My new camera doesn't have a viewfinder, though, so when I first started using it I kept banging my head up against it looking for the viewfinder, lol. Now I don't miss it at all. One of the things that I like best is that I can immediately throw out images that I *don't* want.
My images of Apolo in Washington at the mathmovesu event were the first that I took with my new camera. Thank goodness for photo editing programs!

Maybe if Apolo comes to San Diego, I will step up the momentum & make a final decision for a digital camera purchase. It took me 3 months to research all the best features/quality for my Widescreen TV & Surround Sound System so...
