I am so excited for Shani and his success. He deserves it. Now if only the US media would give him some coverage! On his home page it lists him as living in Calgary... really??? What's the scoop? Also never heard what he named his baby boy... fans want to know. Well at least this fan does.

Over on WCSN.Com, there's a feed (delayed) from long-track's recent meet at HeervenHeen, where Shani shined. See the feed from day 1. From the main page, find the link for ISU World Cup with the pic of Shani.....
Davis skates to double World Cup gold By Dan Driscoll / WCSN.com American Shani Davis' star burned brightly at the Essent International Skating Union World Speed Skating finals on Feb. 22-24. Building on the fame earned as the 1,000-meter gold medalist at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Davis skated to two first-place finishes at the meet before a sold-out crowd at the Thialf Ice Arena in Heerenveen, Holland. His victories secured him the overall World Cup titles in the 1,000 meters and 1,500 meters.
In the men's 1,500 meters, Davis convincingly laid claim to the overall World Cup title, winning in Heerenveen in one minute 45.25 seconds on Feb. 22. With a time of 1:08.63, Davis also finished first in the 1,000 meters in Heerenveen and the World Cup, beating Canada's Denny Morrison on Feb. 24 by .12 in a final pairing that featured the world's top two skaters.
In the 500 meters, Canada's Jeremy Wothersthingy and Germany's Jenny Wolf -- who had both already won the overall World Cup titles -- handily won this event on Feb. 23. On the same day, local favorite, and World Allround champion, Paulien van Deutekom defeated her Dutch teammate Ireen Wüst and Canada's Kristina Groves in the 1,500 meters. However, Groves' third-place finish was fast enough for her to win the overall World Cup.
Two days after pulling out of the 1,500 meters final with a medical issue, Germany's Anni Friesinger stormed out to a convincing victory in the 1,000 meters on Feb. 24, finishing in 1:15.57 -- more than a second ahead of van Deutekom.
