I had been trying to lose weight with limited success. Since last spring I've used some of his quotes sort of as a mantra. "Make a commitment, give 110%...anything is possible...." ..and It's about the journey, not the destination.
Since then I've lost 40 pounds and started jogging, when I could barely jog 100 steps. I put the music that he danced to on my ipod, and then built on that as a foundation for upbeat, fun music.
Not a person considered athletic; don't play sports...but at 57 years old I have recently run in a few 5k's, am shooting for 10K this summer and a 1/2 marathon in the fall....who woulda thought?
Thank you, Apolo....
I would really love to see Apolo do a PBS special on personal motivation, and unleashing the potential inside of each of us.

Unfortunatly I have only participated once since I had a car accident last Sunday and got whip lash. The girls and I are fine though and the damage was minor to my car it was just mostly cause of ice on a bridge that it happened.

Because of Apolo, I was inspired to overcome my uneasiness of trying anything new by myself. If I'm going to go someplace new or try something new, then I have a friend or my husband go with me. But Apolo made me get in my car, drive 11 and a half hours straight to Pennsylvania so I could watch him dance. Really....he made me do it. When I told my husband and all my family members what I was going to do, they couldn't believe it. I know to most it won't seem like a big deal, but I never would have done that for anyone but Apolo. When I told my hubbie about A Night With Apolo, he jokingly asked me if I was going to hop in the car and drive to Seattle. I wish.

Somewhere here in the Forum someone had put together all of the snipets that he danced to, into one track...Its about 32 minutes. Was it called "AJdances?". So I put that on my ipod. Then I took each of the songs that he danced to, downloaded the full-length, original recording of the song and put them on the ipod.
