Is it just me, or do others find that they remember hearing something about Apolo, but don't really know if you read it somewhere, or maybe deamt it? (or even worse, made it up without realizing it!) Seems to me, very recently, that I read just a few sentences about his donating the 2002 skates to a musuem. But he also mentioned that he had donated the blood-soaked skinsuit from those games, as well. Maybe that was getting a bit tacky for the SMithsonian? But then again, maybe this menopausal mind just imagined that....

From the Winniepeg Sun, an article about what was liked and not liked over the past year in reality shows. They lead with "THE GOOD", which is, of course, Apolo and HElio.... Enjoy... winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/Television/2007/12/29/4744398-sun.html----------------------------------------------- The only thing more annoying than watching reality TV shows is having to hear people talk about them after the fact. Agree? So, then I'd advise you not to read any further, as it might drive you so crazy that some producer will offer you a reality show of your own. But for those who don't mind a little reflection on the good, the bad, and the sleazy happenings in the "real" world over the course of 2007, I've pulled some fond (and forgettable) memories out of the vault. Yes, it was painful. But someone had to do it. Happy New Year! THE GOOD Dancing jocks Let's hear it for the boys. Olympic speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno and IndyCar champ Helio Castroneves proved they can also win trophies if they gyrate their hips really well on Seasons 4 and 5 of Dancing With the Stars. How Julianne Hough -- the pro partner of both men -- managed to get them to focus on their moves instead of her tush remains a mystery.

I posted this in the Apolo News thread in response to evie5 asking the same question, hope this is what you were referring to. The entire interview is on the USOC website. "When it’s all said and done, what do you want your legacy to be?“I used to want to be the most decorated winter athlete of all time, but now I’m tied with Eric Heiden. I don’t know anymore. I definitely want to leave my mark in the Olympic path and dream. It’s hard to say. It would be really cool to be in some sort of museum, which is actually going to happen, but that’s still on the down low. I’m donating some of the real skates from 2002, the real skin suit from when I got cut that has the blood on it still, the real helmet and the real gloves. That kind of stuff and then I have some stuff from 2006, some pictures that I want to bring. For short track, Americans had never made a final on the men’s side especially. It was never looked at like a real sport, so to have the opportunity to really shine is cool. So I’d like to be remembered for that.”

I would love to see the exhibit but won't be traveling there. I wish it could be part of a "traveling exhibit" -- maybe around the Olympics in 2010.

I think one of the articles mentioned it would be up from December 7 to January 26. That means it wouldn't have been there in 2004, lily, but does that seem like a REALLY short time to anyone else? Aren't things usually on display for longer than that?

Lori, no the magazine is only in vitamin shops. It is free. I went to The Vitamin Shoppe here in Houston (there are only three) and they were out but one of the clerk's remembered a customer had left their copy at the store the other day so he gave it to me. I will be forever grateful. Almost made me want to buy a bottle of vitamins. NOT!

Thanks SO much for the scan, breidy!! Wow, great pictures! By vitamin shops, do you mean places like GNC, etc, or just The Vitamin Shoppe? (I don't think we have those here) I have to get me one!!
