Here's part of the lyrics-- it makes me think of Apolo on the ice. Also notice it says "no pain...no gain," you know he trains in a t-shirt that says that right? And it has a line about crawling and slipping-- it reminds me of his courage in 2002 when he won his silver by crawling across the ice.
Try to lie but it ain't me Ain't me try to look but I can't see Can't stop right now cause I'm too far And I can't keep goin' cause it's too hard In the day in the night it's the same thing On the field on the block it's the same game On the real if you stop then it's no pain But if you can't feel pain then it's no gain Rearrange and you change and it's all bad And you try to maintain but you fall back And you crawl and you slip and you slide down Wanna make it to the top better start now
I also like:
If you know how this is Gonna see it's not that easy Don't stop get it till it's done From where you are or have begun I said keep on try a little harder To see everything you need to be Believe in your dreams That you see when you're asleep
LoveApolo, I have it on CD (bought it just to think about Apolo). I wouldn't know how to link it or anything.

I don't know what the Flipsyde song is, but the Gorrilaz "Feel Good Inc" is the song I was after. It was so cool, it showed Apolo skating in tune to the beat of the music. Really cool! I also believe the band members in Gorrilaz are Japanese Americans, so this is partly why they may have used the song for the Apolo segment.

There's nothing weird about Apolo turning your interest in a song. It happens all the time, believe you me! One day, you'll hear another song playing in the background during an Apolo interview, and you'll like that too! Because of the opening ceromonies, I've had a strange interest in disco!

Found this excerpt on a Flipsyde news page... it was rather interesting! "But Flipsyde's subsequent album, ''We the People" -- featuring a retelling of American history as a gangsta story -- was not an instant US hit. Cherrytree released it on a limited basis last summer, as the band toured Europe with Snoop Dogg and Black Eyed Peas. Other than a glowing mention in The Washington Post, Flipsyde drew little domestic attention. Kierszenbaum says Cherrytree ''put the record here on pause." Then NBC came calling. The network wasn't calling specifically for Flipsyde. It was looking for a song -- something that would speak both ''Olympics" and ''youth." It stood to reason: NBC has rights to air the Olympics through 2008, and an incentive to hook younger viewers. It has an in-house advertising agency with tens of millions of dollars to spend on Olympic promotions. NBC marketers were planning a spot that featured female snowboarders and a song by the pop-metal girl group the Donnas, says Barbara Blangiardi, the NBC Agency's vice president of marketing and special projects. They also hoped to make a music video about Olympic skaters, she says, with a song that was ''a little bit edgier." And the apparatus was in place to find it. These days, networks frequently hunt for new music, which is introduced and promoted on shows such as ''The OC" and ''CSI: Miami." ''You're trying to establish yourself as being in touch and innovative and groundbreaking," Blangiardi says. And labels are quick to offer potential hits. So Tony Seyler, Interscope's vice president for film and television marketing, sent NBC a few songs last June, including ''Someday." ''We instantly loved it," Blangiardi says. ''We literally ran upstairs to the president of the agency." Later that month, Flipsyde was in Artesia, Calif., playing ''Someday" in front of a film crew in an ice rink owned by figure skater Michelle Kwan. Kwan and speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno skated as Piper rapped in a T-shirt; the network had nixed his sweatshirt, which was emblazoned with two revolvers." The rest of the article is here: www.flipsydemusic.com/main/news/news.asp , but that was the many part about Apolo and the Olympics.

oookk...this is weird, but I am listening to "My HUmps"--Black Eyed Peas....and you know all the speedskaters ( ST & LT) can relate to this song....get it!!!
"Watcha gonna do with all that junk ,all that junk inside that trunk... Watcha gonna do with all that a** , all that a** in them jeans....."
if you have a sense of humor, then you would find that connection funny.... if you didn't then oh well..yeah im weird!!!

Actually, I love that song from the Black Eyed Peas! Also, howmany of you secretly like to recite The pu$$ycat Dolls, "Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like ME!" That's another one I kind of like, even though it's corny!
