I have some questions.
Can an athlete compete in both the long ans short tracks at the same time? Why cant both venues be trained in the same phaze of the OTC?
Also, with Apolo's undeniable superstar status, and he defintely has the bucks, why doesn;t he just build his own house on the OTC site, and when he finally retires, he can donate it for the center to use for balls or more dorms or something?

I did hear that his father is trying to push him into investing in real estate, but golly, right now, he is like the richest squatter I know about.

Yes they can, perfect example is Shani Davis. He competes in both.

Actually I saw in an interview that Apolo says he's not rolling, that this ain't the NBA! So maybe he does well, but not as rich as say an NBA or NFL star??? I don't know.

Uh, listen, Apolo may not be no Michael Jordan, but he is extremely wealthy through investors, and sometimes he can tack on a price for appearances. I saw an interview where he flashed a $40,000 wrist watch, so the boy has the riches.
There is also word of him starting to design a signature clothing label, and the royalties from that alone could garner enough income to buy several mansions, if he wanted to.

Everybody wants to start a clothing line. I'm gonna start a clothing line. I'm gonna call it "Rawhide Sugar!" for "the rough and wicked!"

Well, i think he still doesn't have a house is maybe it makes him more driven and determined. WHen your living at the comfort of your home....it just isn't the same, i guess. Here's a lil' quote i found from an old article:
"But you're basically living in, like, small dorms. It's not exactly the ideal bachelor pad, you know what I mean?",he says. "I think it's easier to keep a clear head here," Ohno says. "I'm surrounded by world-class athletes 24/7. The intensity and the energy is always there, radiating off all the athletes, because everybody who's here wants to win, all the time."

Apolo is a big enough name that he may have people offering him things to wear. If he was indeed "flashing" the watch, it may have just been another deal - you know, how actresses at the Oscars drop the name of their designer?

If anyone has seen Kathy Griffin's "Life on the D-List," you see an episode where she gets to go to a gift swag meet just because she was attending the oscars... she wasn't even presenting, and she wasnt even invited to the ceremony... just the red carpet. So if Apolo was invited to some Oscar parties, he may have gotten to go to one of these swag giveaways. They give out $40,000 watches at these things like they are eggrolls at the mall.
Then again, he may be a rich little boy now and bought it himself. Who knows?
