To get you in 'practice' for the World Cup... The World Junior Championships is this weekend in Bolzano, Italy. I'm hoping that ISU will have (at least) live text coverage - here's the link www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?evt=11210100000008 - if they're giving results there should be a *LIVE* link of some kind on the page that you can click... Italy's 9 hours ahead of Pacific Time, 6 ahead of Eastern. According to the link, competition will start at 3am Friday morning Pacific time (tomorrow). I doubt that anyone is that much of an insomniac, but over the course of the weekend you might get to see some live data results during daylight hours... Some of the kids on the Jr. National team were staying at our hotel in SLC during Nationals - Erin Bartlett, Walter Rusk, J.R Celski and Kyle Uyehara come to mind. Alyson Dudek was the one who told me that Jimmy Jang fell over the boards once when coaching his skaters, and Skylar was one of the girls who 'high-fived' another skater when they were both charged with a false start. Mtnme & Skaterswaltz, Walter was one of the kids who came in with the inflatable swords while we were in the lobby at the computer one night. Before you get your popcorn and blankie, check out Skylar McCormick's blog of the team's experience in Italy. Start at the bottom and work up. You'll feel like you know these kids by the time you get to the top! Glad to know that Erin FINALLY got her bags (and skates). It's a very cute blog. Leave a comment and wish them luck! www.skylaritaly.blogspot.com/

Don't know where else to post this, but in the North American Championships this past weekend, Travis Jayner got second place for the Senior men, and Barry Winslow got third place in the Intermediate bracket - in the relay, Barry competed with Travis, Ryan Bedford and (?don't know who the 4th guy was?), and they WON!
The Chen sisters from here in SoCal - my goodness! They are 10 (Jacqueline) and 12 (Sarah). Sarah WON every final in her age bracket, and Jacqueline made it into every final for her age bracket. Ya' wanna see the future for women's ST? Look no further!
In the Junior division, Jonathan Sermeno (also from SoCal!) beat out Simon Cho to win first place - I predict you'll be hearing his name a lot in the future.
Watch Kyle Carr, too, in the Senior division - he's been skating well lately, and gave the national team guys a run for their money in the last few meets.
