Gotta be honest, Joey landing in the bottom two messed with my mind. Clearly he wasn't the one going home, but it was still a wake up call that no one is entirely safe anymore. We are officially down to the best of the bunch. This means the judges will be harder to please and the votes will count more than ever. -- Now, horrors aside, I was very pleased this week. Apolo & Julianne's tango was on par with the professional competitions I've watched. The paso doble was firey, intense, passionate... everything. The perfect score and encore were well earned. Bravo Apolo & Julianne! Regarding everybody else: Laila. Her first dance was unspeakably touching. The tribute was lovely and the music enchanting. I was glad her dad could make it, although seeing him was somewhat bittersweet. His illness has taken a toll but underneath that you can still tell he's "the greatest" and he thinks his daughter is too. Ian will probably never please the judges because it seems they've already decided that there's something they want that he can't give. It's sad too because you can tell he's really trying. Joey can joke all he wants, but clearly he was surprised to find himself under that red light. Dude wasn't happy. Like I said at the start, he knew he wasn't leaving, but it brought it home to him that things can go any way now. The wheat has officially been separated from the chaf. Lets see how it goes.

one more thing... In the paso doble, Apolo's leap was colossal! Seriously the height was amazing and arm position perfect. If anyone has a screen cap, please do post it (yet another thing my dinosaur of an IP won't let me do). The encore caught the best camera angle.

I thought Apolo did an amazing job last night! A&J did fantastic! Although, people on the DWTS message boards are saying Apolo lost his balance at the ed of the Paso Doble and "almost fell" I didn't see it...I may have to take another look at that...but still...the dance got a perfect score! Apolo did not fall, and most of the people bashing him for getting a perfect score while having a minor mistake are not his fans. Apolo corrected Julianne's split slide because she had too much speed going into it. He placed his right hand down to balance himself, and saved them from a major mistake. Julianne or Apolo could have fallen in that move, but Apolo reacted perfectly to correct it. ;D

This is the first season that I have watched DWTS. Next week, will they get rid of 2 couples and have 2 in the finals?

This is the first season that I have watched DWTS. Next week, will they get rid of 2 couples and have 2 in the finals? In the last couple seasons, they have had only 2 couples in the final however, I think I read that this season, they are going to have 3...but I am not 100% sure on that.

I think the couples choose their favorite ballroom dance and a fav latin dance, and do totally different music and choreography to it...that's what I read on the DWTS Boards. But I also read, in a past season or 2, that they could also just do their favorite dance they already did in the season over again. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

;D I am absolutely obsessed with Apolo on DWTS!!! He is so freaking adorable I can't keep my eyes off of him! And he and Julianne together are just an awesome couple, dancing or otherwise. If these two don't get married and have beautiful Amer-Asian children it will be such a total waste!!! The chemistry between them is palpable. You could bottle and sell it! They should do a movie together, it would be a smash hit!

I agree, Jules! They are a dynamic duo if I ever saw one. lol... They do look smashing together--it's hard not to think of them as a couple because they work together so well. But I believe Julianne said something to the effect that her and her boyfriend/fiance's engagement was off partly due to the busyness of the show...
