I fixed it the other one for you, Peggy. This is a nice article. Great concept about Olympic TV. Sounds awesome. But I wonder if part of the thrill and draw of the Olympics is getting to see those sports that you don't see everyday? I wonder if it would kinda saturate the market and then people wouldn't be as interested in the games when they are actually happening?

that's the problem. there is apparently no thrill or draw anymore. people didn't watch the olympics. and since when does saturating the market hurt the selling of a product? american idol, anyone? star wars, anyone?
if they can keep a channel for cooking going they can keep this going.

One of the things that draws me into figure skating is that I know about the top athletes. For instance after watching Nationals, I was very excited about Sasha's prospects, and keenly interested in the other skaters. I knew about the dramatic situation of Michelle Kwan petitioning to be on the Olympic team. It gives you some background so that you know who and what to look for when watching the games.
I think that the Winter Olympics would really benefit from increased coverage of the winter sports. There are so many channels now that it's hard to see why there *isn't* increased coverage already.
Peggy (at the risk of stating the obvious) -- did you try dumping the cache? On my antiquated copy of Windows, it's Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files. Click "Delete Files", and you may also want to click "Settings" and make some adjustments there.

I can see where some of you are coming from when you say that the Olympics won't be special or interesting anymore if they are never on, but a LOT of people already ignore the Olympics anyway. Actually, if some of those sports (especially winter sports) were on all the time, maybe they'd form more of a fanbase, and people would have certain athletes to root for in the next Olympics (sort of like what Susie said). Even if I'm totally wrong, it's worth a try. They've got to do something about the incredible drop in ratings...
