yeah...good question! i was wondering about that as well! i saw him at the ceremony i attend, and kept looking at him wondering who the heck he was! he kind of just stood off to the side and didn't say much!

Who is David Creswell again? I remember reading who he was, but I forgot lol. I posted this on another thread, but this is really a better place for it anyway.  He was listed in Apolo's Aknowlegements on his website as one of his supporting crew. And I think this is him.  At least the picture looks like him. What I found with that picture follows: "DAVID CRESWELL graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Psychology, and is now a 5th year social and health psychology graduate student (At UCLA). His research focuses broadly on the intersection of self-regulation processes and health. He currently is working on two programs of research looking at the effects of self-affirmation and mindfulness meditation in reducing stress and improving adaptation to chronic disease. In conducting this work, his efforts focus specifically on looking at the underlying psychological, behavioral, neural, and physiological mechanisms guiding these mind-body interactions." Sounds sort of like something Apolo would be into, what with his favorite book being "Peaceful Warrior" and all. I really did find tons of stuff about him and his research. Susie followed up with this: I remember in his autobiography Apolo mentioned how helpful Dave had been in getting him into a mindset to win. I know that he's been a longtime friend. Is that info about UCLA current? If so, that puts another friend in the SoCal area for Apolo. I think that Dave may have gone to the Dominican Rebublic with Apolo as well. |

Noelle talks about David in one of the posts on the OZ. About how he and Apolo became friends. Dave sent Noelle some pictures right after the Olympics of Apolo on the beach in the DR from 2002. He was also on the Jamie Kennedy Experience with Apolo.

hmm.... it is big... well, the ones i ate were pig meat that were sliced... and you steam it i think? w/ tea leaves wrapped around it and the meat is so soft!  something like this Yum...I LOVE kalua pork. It's traditionally made by salting a whole pig and slow cooking it for hours in an oven made by digging a hole in the ground and covering it with banana leaves. But I think there's a bunch of recipes on the web where you can bake it in your oven for several hours with a bit of Hawaiian sea salt and liquid smoke. I wonder if Apolo's tried musubi, which is basically a slice of spam on a block of rice tied up with seaweed. That's some good stuff. I love his sunglasses!! very sexy!! |
