well, that's the problem, it's (meaning the short track element) not all related to Apolo anymore, and that's got some peeps reaaaaaallllyyy upset. But I think we can solve this...but like I said, I need some time to collect my thoughts ...but since it has FINALLY stopped snowing for the first time in a week and the sun's out, I reeeaaaaallllyyy need to get outa the house for awhile. Talk to ya' all later.... Cabin fever. Go blow off some steam, Mtnme!

Talk to ya' all later.... It would seem that some here need instruction on how to address their peers properly. It's Y'ALL, m'dear, not ya' all... Learn it. Live it. Yours truly, GRITS (Girl Raised In The South)

Yours truly, GRITS (Girl Raised In The South) LOL! Okay, Ms. Grits, what part of speech exactly is, "All y'all"...as in, "I'll see all y'all at Marquette." The schoolmarm in me is wondering.

Yours truly, GRITS (Girl Raised In The South) I WAS raised in the 'south'.... Southern California ....."let's do lunch, babe"... (not ya'll, - it's 'babe' - preferably delivered with a wink and a cheesy grin )

Officially y'all is the contraction for You All
as in You All meet me in Marquette
or You All will never believe this one.....
Do y'all understand now? LOL

Well, ain't it interesting how a thread like this can dissolve into a discussion of Southern Speak... I'm off to N'awlins tomorrow. NOTE: NOT for Mardi Gras 'proper', but for a 'proper' Mardi Gras - the Endymion ball. I'll say 'hey' to Kid Rock from ALL Y'ALL 'babes'!

Well now....ain't this just the thing! If ya'll really want to delve into the world of 'Southern Speak' I'll hang in there with ya like a hair in a biscuit. Or a tick on a duck's a$$.
You take care in the Big Easy Lori and have a great time. I think we discussed the bead thing last year!

My oh my, but this thread veered waaaay off topic! That's OK, I enjoy seeing the "personalities" re-emerge. Mntme...get that sass back! I don't think a new board is necessary at all!!! Maybe a little clearer delineation of topics or threads or whatever y'all call them, but I think I can find the threads that are of interest to me and avoid those that aren't. Having lived in Florida in my teens and early 20's, I am very familiar with y'all...they look at you funny if you say it in Seattle . I arrived in Seattle via: Ohio (birthplace but only lived there 2 months) to Montana to Kansas City to Florida to Washington DC to Seattle..... my dad was in the FBI...we moved a lot.

I had no idea in Florida they said Y"All !! I live in Chicago which does not really have much of an accent....but id you go to "downstate" IL you will hear the heaviest southern accents ever!!
