As for the DQ's and the medals...I don't think it works that way if the A Final folks are deeked....at least it didn't work that way at Junior Worlds, when our gals could have made the podium because of the same situation. There were only two teams on the podium. Go Figure.... What?!?! Darn, I always thought the team(s)/skater(s) from the B final moved up if there were DQs in the A final I guess that may kinda sorta make sense though that they wouldn't. Hey, I could be wrong. We'll just have to scour the internet for podium photos... (and there had BETTER be photos!)

I just edited my last post to include this: Edited: Ok, the more I think about it the more it does make sense that the B final person would NOT move up----don't mind me.

Wow, 95 DQ's. That has got to be a record. Thanks, justsaying, for the record keeping on this weekend's DQ's. Unbelievable.

Welcome to the board, Trisha! Here are some more pictures of that 'very happy Young man'! ...nothin' but net.... "...cakewalk, babe - I'm not even breathing hard! See! I'm standing up, while everyone else is doubled over in pain. "...I'd do a 'happy dance', but I've got these long blades on...will this move do?" So I'll just flash a big ear to ear grin! No podium picks yet - (and only 4 pictures loaded for day 3) A little birdie told me this is Travis's brother Alex in the stands. Thanks for 'representing' for the rest of us who couldn't be there!

I'm so proud of our teams. Everyone did so well. ;D ;D It is thrilling to have so many medals this weekend and I know that this helps them to know that all the work and sacrifices they make is worth it. It also makes me very hopeful that we will have more than just Apolo on the medal stands at the Olympics (not only 2010 but also in the years to come). Keep up the good work. We are proud of you! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks MTNME.
Sure is nice to see Americans on the podium.
When I 1st became a ST fan back in 2002, it was Apolo on the podium for almost every race, the men's relay team and Rusty Smith sometimes. It's nice to see some of the other Americans up there more often now.
Actually, I like seeing a greater mix of countries represented on the podium. It used to be the Koreans, the Chinese and the Canadians, with Apolo and an occasional Italian. On the woman's side, it was the same only Evgenia Radanova instead of Apolo and less Italians. I think some of these other countries's skaters are really benefiting from the new format with the repechage rounds and the additional opportunities for skating competitively.

Hello, Trisha, welcome! It's nice to see you here! J.R. looks adorable -- love the "tongue" and the grin. ETA: Trisha, what do you think? Does Jessica move up to bronze since she won the B final?

Since I missed the races today, or yesterday, or tomorrow--whenever the finals were LOL
Thanks to everyone for posting the results, the pics and the DQ YIKES etc. When those first few DQs rolled in I too was shocked. Made you wonder WTH! As the weekeend progressed it's pretty obvious--it's gotta be the judges.
Either way--congrats to TEAM USA. Building blocks for the road to the Olympcs.

I don't think Jessica gets the bronze. I seem to remember a competition shortly after the ISU went to this format with the A & B finals where only 1 relay team got a medal - all the other teams in the A final were DQ'd. Was kind of a funny podium shot w/only one winning team! Hello, Trisha, welcome! It's nice to see you here! J.R. looks adorable -- love the "tongue" and the grin. ETA: Trisha, what do you think?
