I love Kara and I welcome her addition. Her credentials are impeccable. I do hope she doesn't get sucked into quibbles with Simon as that gets old. She could be a great asset. David Archuleta has nothing but glowing tributes when they wrote and recorded together. If nothing else I'd like to hear some new remarks. Yo dawg can only get you so far.

I like having new blood, at the same time I didn't want the old blood to go either. I think the chemistry works ok. I also like the way they've speeded up the early auditions and focused less on the nut cases. There are some good singers, I like music and always enjoy watching the competition unfold.

As far as the first auditions...I thought they were pretty much same-same as every year, but honestly, how is "Be Careful" a threat? I thought the guy was just saying take care, that kind of thing, but a threat...?
Other than that, though, this season's actually got me pretty excited. I know it's really early, but I'm seriously rooting for Rose.

So is Rose and the Osmond guy. The DIVAS, oh my. Bikini girl got her 15 minutes of fame I'm sure some men's mag will be calling soon. 2ndry agendas are rampant on AI. But there are some truly impressive voices left. Thank goodness.

I found a lot of the drama too difficult to watch last night because I resented missing the opportunity to hear more of the quality singing. I already have favorites (Anoop for one) and to waste so much time on drama hype was silly. I am glad there was no group audition last year..it can really penalize someone with talent in a poor group.
Meanwhile I'm still following David Archuleta like a puppy dog fan. I will see two live tour concerts at the end of the month. You cannot appreciate his amazing talent until you've heard him live. Lily has me beat... she has one more ticket than I. Most of these smaller venues have sold out, but if you have a chance..go see him.

What we DID hear is b*tchy broads behaving badly (or BBBB for short! LOL) If I wanted to be subjected to that, I'm sure I could be more than accomodated at the local Jr high school.  Such antics are why I stopped watching Extreme makeover home edition. (And I'm a Designer!) It all just devolved into listening to Tye screaming incessantly into a megaphone and watching the designers ( - define that please) antics. When it came to actually seeing all the hard work come to a 3D reality, the camera's breeze through the house so quickly, lingering on shots a mere nano-seconds, you don't get anything but a fleeting impression of what was actually done. (Maybe that's the idea) I'll grant you, I may be more interested in this than the majority, but still... And by the way, the designers at Kraftmaid are the one's who are the real designers and do all the 'heavy lifting' when it comes to the kitchens. (I would be more apt to call the peeps you see on the actual show as just cute decorators....big difference.) And don't even get me started on the train wreck that is the Bachelor....I physically cringe when subjected to it. LOL  EDIT: and oh yeah! Thank God bikini girl is gone!!!!!! |

I, too, regret not hearing more of the 'quality singing', but I suppose AI must have all this so-called drama! I'm told that my daughter's former student has advanced through Hollywood week, but they didn't even show her (yet), although I 'think' I got a very brief shot of her. Yep, I have one more concert than Mari... a road-trip with some of the ladies I went with, to the Bonnie Hunt show and the Christmas Tree-Lighting... but... Mari...don't forget that we're doing a trip to SLC when that show materializes!  11 of the 20 venues are sold out, including Pomona/Southern Cali! |

wow...what a grueling selection process for the top 36. 
lots of great vocals this season that's for sure!
tatiana...good voice but her screeching is unbearable.
my faves: adam and anoop for sure...then there's around 10 others i really like too.
can't wait for this season to unfold!
