Not really, but I gotta go, you know. That's why I haven't been around much. That and I've been so d**n sleepy the past few days. I did another test. They took pictures of my gall bladder, then gave me stuff to make my gall bladder release bile. Made my stomach feel not so well. At least it was empty before the test. I had to lay for nearly two hours on this narrow table. My back! The test turned out fine, that and the upper GI. But yet I still got sick just this past weekend. So back to the doc I go. (I have a new one, my other one is leaving by the end of this month) and he gives me this pill to take before I eat to make the food pass through easier instead of sitting there waiting to come back up (uck) wish me luck on that. Now the only thing that's bothering me is sinuses! I've sneezed so much my head hurts. I hate that. So hey everyone... I missed being here.

Tabitha, I can sympathize. I have what is called a "Hiatal Hernia" and I get really bad GERD, too. It sucks. It got so bad for me last year, they did a colonoscopy. Seriously. That was NOT fun, but it had to be done. They found nothing "bad" per se, but I do have a growth on one of my kidneys that they said was "benign" but I do have to go back to the doctors in a few years to have them check on it so they can monitor it. It may have to come out, they are not sure yet. Good luck with the new doctor and new med. God, don't you just hate that? I've been having bad problems with my right knee. It even let out a very loud "POP" one morning while I was making breakfast almost two months ago now. Following is what I've had to go through SINCE that happened. It's longish, so you are forewarned: 1. When I first had to go in about it, both of my doctors ( I go to an office that is father and son doctors and they both have the same clients, more or less, they share, etc. ) were booked up for weeks. So I went in to see the Nurse Practitioner. My insurance would not of covered me had I gone to an emergency room or Urgent Care, so I figured it was better than nothing. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. And 2. Because of the run arounds with said Nurse Practionier, him not taking an MRI in the first place ( which he should have and I even told him so ), to going to aqua physical therapy which he prescribed ( helped some, but not enough for what IS wrong with me ). To make what could be a LONGER story somewhat shortened; I finally DID get to see one of my doctors. He prescribed an MRI and told me that YES, the stupid Nurse Practioner SHOULD HAVE ordered one BEFORE just sending me off to Aqua therapy and a topical analgesic. I went and got an MRI a couple of days before Thanksgiving. I had to wait for the results on the following Monday due to the holiday. I had to set up an appointment to go see an Orthopedist that my doctor referred me to so I could hear the RESULTS of my MRI and find out what he thought my treatment should be. I found out something that maybe I should of known years ago, but well, since I'd not had any leg injuries, broken bones, etc. it never came up. Both of my knee joints are somewhat "deformed." Yeah. A normal person's kneecaps cover the center of that joint of one's leg. Mine do not. They are slightly over to one side on each leg. He kept asking me if I had ever injured them and I said no. And it's true, I haven't. When I was younger, I was an avid jazz dancer, bicyclist and swimmer and my legs or knees had NEVER given me any trouble at all. I didn't start having problems with my legs or hips until I got pregnant with my daughter. He told me that since I already have Osteoarthritis ( runs in the family ), I also have degenerative joint disease ( DJD ). And with my deformity of my kneecaps, he says that just makes the DJD come on quicker and more severe when it hits. So this is why this just kind of came on all of a sudden. On one side of my right knee, the degeneration is so bad, it is "bone on bone." There is NO cartiledge left on that side. UGH! No wonder I feel bad pain and it's hard to move sometimes. So, I have to have injections of this stuff called Synvisc www.synvisc.com/I go for my first shot of this stuff into my knee area on Wednesday, the 17th. I go in for shot #2 on Christmas Eve and shot #3 on New Year's Eve. That's how they do this stuff; three shots a week apart and supposedly, you don't have to have any more for 6 months. This stuff is made from chickens and what it does is to help replace the fluids in between your bones and joints and relieve some of the pressure in there. I hope this stuff works as well as they say it's supposed to. I just hope that A. I get a pain injection, first, before they put that needle in or B. If they don't and I have to have it "cold turkey", that I can just close my eyes and think of something pleasant to get myself through this. I HATE needles anyhow, but to have one put in my knee?! Jaysus H. Christ! And who knows just how LARGE a needle that is going to be. Wish me luck, you guys. I just want to be able to walk and function like a NORMAL human being again. This sure has SUCKED and has gone on for WAY too long now.

Wow, that sounds super freaking painful! I have the degenerative (spelling) disease of my disc in my back. And it pressed up on my nerve in my right leg. Ouch. I went to the doctor for that a few times until I seen a chiropratic doc. And there it was, so I had two epidurals for it. I don't like needles either, I hope for your sake it works, and that it's not too painful. I can move my knee caps, drives my mom nuts. I have weakness in my right one. I have arthritis in it. Ugh. I feel like I got restless leg syndrome too. Must be my nerve again. Just hope it doens't turn painful. So far the new meds are working. Just hope they continue to do so.

Sounds like your sciatic nerve you're talking about. I get problems from that from time to time in my hips and it's happened a few times with this knee if I move it wrong. Hurts like a "mutha", so I feel your pain there, too. Doesn't having degenerative arthritis SUCK the BIG ONE?! It's in both my knees, my hips and my back. It just seems that right now, this right knee is behaving the worst. But it's just a matter of time before the rest of it chimes in to join it. UGH! I hope we BOTH make it through our trials, my dear!

Thanks #1. I hear you on the cold weather. We are snowed and iced in here in the Pacific NW. Freakin' insane. I've not seen it this bad in even the lower elevations where I'm at in a LONG time. Funny thing, though, if we were in the Mid-West or on the East coast, they'd think we were all such a bunch of wussies. For us to not be able to get around on snow here is like between 4-5 inches, NOTHING to someone from like Iowa or New York. It all depends on what you are used to, I guess and also, on what you know how to drive on! Be careful out there all of you having to deal with the "white stuff" this holiday season. Not worth killing yourself for. Stay home and stay safe!

we're having some cold, wet weather down in L.A. too...the horrible thing about rain here is that the locals DO NOT KNOW how to drive or should i say, SLOW DOWN while driving .
regular commute times have tripled this week.

We got some snow. It's not the snow this mid-westener hates, it's the ice storms. BOO!My nerve...it has struck again. And it made me sick as a dog, jerking my leg, jerking my poor tummy until it emptied. Uck. Going to the doc today, went to the hospital yeserday, I hate pacing the floors. Don't want to pace now...I feel like grade a crap today gals. But I shall survive.

Tabs, I hope you are feeling better. Amyurban, I feel you with that knee pain because I messed mine up, and ever since the surgery, I hurt when the weather is changing.*Yuck* Number1, I know about people not knowing how to drive, I mean slowing down when it's raining. It hasn't rained enough here, and we are in a drought. Last week, we did see a dusting of sleet/snow for a day. Of course that melted because we had been in the 80's the day before. This week it was a cold 34 degrees with a wind chill of between 15 and 22 degrees, and we had fog for the entire day. People here don't know how to drive in that either.

I go get an MRI on Wednesday. I hope that I don't jerk around because you have to be still the whole time. I'm nervous. But if I have to have surgery then I'm all for it. Mellie, love the new avi, noticed it right away. I have one of those thermacare heat pads on my back, and let me tell you, it does wonders!

Good luck with your MRI, Tabitha. I'll be thinking about you, hon. I go for my second shot of Synvisc tomorrow ( Christmas Eve ) and for my last one on New Year's Eve. I know my knee would be feeling HEAPS better if it were not for all of this snow and ice. Good God, arthrtitis does NOT like the cold AT ALL! My bones are freakin' KILLING ME! OUCH!

I hope your bones are doing better. Ew, we had ice on the roads the day before the MRI, I am glad that I re-scheduled it for the next day. It went fine. I don't like the closed MRI's much. But I didn't freak. Thank goodness. I get the results either tomorrow or Monday. I will let you know how that goes.
