Hi, everyone! While tearing my hair out over the last couple of years trying to summarize and publicize info for our ST trips, and knowing that people (including me) have to dig through many pages of threads, thinking 'now WHERE did I see that info?', I decided that there must be a better way to summarize data gathered at the forums and blogs that will be easy for people to refer to at a later date. We also realized that new fans trying to learn about the sport have a similar problem referencing info that they've seen on the forums - for instance, 'how do they determine points in the world team championships?' ... ...soooo we have started a new website called www.Rocker-U.net to bridge the gap. We consider it to be a sister site to www.TheRockerFund.org but it is geared toward fan education and promotion of attendance at ST events, and in keeping with the 'education' theme, it's set up like a University campus. It is intended to be a resource to find summaries of info found here and elsewhere at your fingertips. As you explore the site, please note that it is by no means complete - but all who have 'previewed' it think that it is ready to be publicized. We have lots of content, particularly in the skater biography areas, that will be added over the next weeks and months. Enjoy!

Wow, that's...awesome! I love you guys, really ;D Sometimes I'm like, "huh? what're they talking about?" in terms of terminology, so this should really really REALLY help. Great so far!

Lori and Mtnme, what a great idea you two came up with. A great and informative site. Thank you so much for giving us ST fans a place to come to find everything we ever wanted to know about ST. FANTASTIC job. The RockerU site looks GREAT! Awesome job.

Lori and mtnme - very impressive! US Speed Skating should hire you along with Lily as their official photographer! And it's so great to have a place to find answers when it's sometimes intimidating to ask questions because you feel like everyone else is completely up on everything short track except you! The work and research you put into it is so apparent -- wonderful job - thank you!!

Thanks for the kudos, but Lori is the one who spent many long hours in front of the computer creating Rocker-U, so all the credit belongs to her. (I spent the long hours in front of the computer for The Rocker Fund site - It was HER turn - LOL!) But Rocker U is a great idea and is more for you, the fans and it could incorporate a lot more information that would have been too overwhelming for TRF (which is more for the skaters) or wouldn't have been appropriate there. But I'll add my praise along with everyone else - Good Job, Lori! ;D ;D

Hey, y'all, We've set up a new way to see new content at RU - when you go to the home page, you'll see the date that the most recent new content was added, with a clickable link to the 'news' page where that new content is detailed. When you get to the news page, you'll see clickable links to get to the new content quickly. There are some updates to the US Championships trip-planning page that we want to specifically call your attention to, and I want to remind everyone that Dec 11 is the deadline for giving me your name for the meet-up dinner on Thursday night! www.rocker-u.net

Just touching base about Rocker-U. We've opened trip-planning pages for the World Championships and the American Cup Finals - see the News Page for details of all new content! www.rocker-u.net/news.htmThere will also be expanded results for AmCup3 in the next day or so (a List of Medalists, and a "How Did Your Favorite Skater Do?" section) and there will be similar results for the international events coming up in Feb and March.

I've updated the 'Big Three' trip-planning pages on Rocker-U with the best info summaries that I have at this time: Olympic Trials: www.rocker-u.net/us_champs.htmWorld Cup 4: www.rocker-u.net/world_cup4.htmWinter Olympics: www.rocker-u.net/olympics.htmThe RU pages take the place of the Yahoo Group that we used for several years for our trip-planning, and they'll provide quick-reference summaries of the info that we've all dug up over the past few months.
