I know this is going to be heretical here:
I loooove you and everything, Apolo, but going to reference Jung-su's alleged quote "...It's not a foul if the Officials don't call it..."
And I personally think these reporters need to stop asking these questions like "Do you think you were impeded?", etc..
What's in the past is in the past. Everyone, the Koreans, Americans, etc., need to stop with the "What if'..." and "If this person hadn't..." answers and statements because, no matter what, it's going to be taken negatively. On both sides.
This is just how I feel about it.
ANYWAY, on a lighter note, I'm soooooooo glad Shen and Zhao won gold; they definitely deserved it. Though, I wish Zhang and Zhang would've had gotten a medal.

I was so impressed when Apolo let out his "WHOOPS" and left JR to have the stage. That was pure class. I was so happy to see JR on the podium. It should have been gold and silver for our guys but they know they are the real winners.

Does anyone know where or can find the interview/fluff piece with Apolo that was shown during the 1500m broadcast (not sure if it was before the semi final or final)

Re Apolo's comments about the arm bar by the Koreans....actually I think he should have spoken up and put the Koreans and the OFFICIALS on notice. What's he got to lose? Lee threw the first stink bomb. Hopefully the officials will be watching everyone very closely in the remaining races. Too bad they didn't bother to spend some time on J.R. in the post race news conference. His is one of the best stories in the Olympics.

I wish the skating had gone without controversy. I read the article referenced on the top of the page and Apolo said he had been armed. I went back and looked at the race for like the 8th or 9th time and then asked my DH to come look at it. Now I am a rabid fan and he is tired of hearing Apolo's name. But he looked at it with non-prejudiced eyes and agrees he was visibly slowed by the Korean's arm.
I also agree that Apolo was the gentleman competitor I know him to be when he talked to the reporter and then he half hugged JR and left. He, in my opinion, did that to make sure JR got some air time which he certainly deserved. JR is so awesome and I could not be happier for him! I love Apolo!

Please bear with me, but another potentially stupid question here. I was looking at the upcoming races on NBC website. On Wed (tomorrow), it shows Men's 1000m heats at 5:25 and Men's 5000m relays at 6:32. Then on Sat 26th it shows Mens 500m finals at 7:14 and 5000m relays finals at 7:51. Can Apolo really skate that soon in different races or do you think this is just broadcast times? It is all really confusing to me. Can you tell I am EXTREMELY scared I will miss something?! One small lifetime regret I will have is that I never got to see him skate in person...my DH would not go with me, and I have worked hard to forgive him for that LOL. I DID take off with less than a weeks notice and flew from New Orleans to Philly then drove to Hershey PA to see him dance on tour with DWTS. My best friend did that adventure with me, God bless her. Any answers for me from all you smart "ejimicated" people?

Any answers for me from all you smart "ejimicated" people? Yes, they can put the races that close. If I remember correctly, the skaters have to have a minimum of 20 minutes of recovery time in between races (sk8er can probably clarify that) The Olympics are a totally different gig than other competitions though, and anyone who has been to a live competition knows things don't run smoothly on a tight schedule and the start times change constantly. (Except the competitions in Germany! LOL. They say the start time is 11:56 am, they start by God at exactly 11:56am! Not 11:57, not 12:00 noon...)
