Dangerously in Love: Ch 5
Sophia woke up the next morning feeling giddy. ‘Maybe it was just a dream’ She turned around and saw that scattered around were her clothes: babydoll dress and shoes. She grinned. She hadn’t been this happy in a long time.
She got up, showered. She fixed her self a bowl of cereal and sat down while she flipped through the L.A Times.
“Morning Colette!”
“Hey. So? How was your date?” Colette asked smiling. She had walked in looking like she had partied hard, but still managed to be cheerful.
“It was fantastic! At first I was a bit shy, but you know”
“Ah yes. The first date. And the man is hot!”
“Yes, yes he is. But he’s more than that. He’s smart, sweet, and nice. He has many qualities that are just great”, she said looking at her sthingy.
“Yeah. But what are you doing about Alex? He’s a sweetheart too…Expect about the player part”, she bit her lip
“Alex?”, Sophia was lost.
“Yeah. You swear like you haven’t noticed he’s so into you”, she grinned
It wasn’t as if she hadn’t. For a while she kind of liked him herself but she knew him all too well.
“I know. Besides I don’t even know how things are suppose to work out with Apolo”
“What is he doing here anyway?” Colette asked
“What? Oh I’m not sure” it had never occurred to Sophia. She had had such a good time she didn’t even ask.
“I know he doesn’t even reside in Cali. That’s why I’m saying things won’t work out. We’ll probably just be friends or something of that sort”, she said looking into her sthingy. And as happy she had felt she felt horrible in a heartbeat.
“Well I think Alex really honestly likes you. And he won’t wait around forever. He’s a good catch, if he ever decides to take a gal serious”, she said sincerely.
“Wha? But I never gave him the impression that I liked him” ‘or did I?’, she thought.
“Well I don’t know, but the boy likes you”, and with that final thought Colette left.
Sophia was in a daze. She didn’t really know what to do or think. ‘How could I possibly think something serious would happen between us?’ she laughed. ‘Geesh what a school girl’ She got up washed her bowl and went into her bedroom. She threw herself onto her bed and buried face into her pillow. “Whaaaa! Okay breathe. I’ll just clean around”
She shuffled about her room cleaning and so forth. She fumbled through her phone the first on the alphabet was ‘Alexander’ (send).
“Hello. Sophie?”, Alex sounded surprised.
“Ummm yeah”, Sophia sounded just as surprised.
“What’s up?” asked Alex
“Nothing much…just you know here”, she winced. ‘Kind of lame what the hell was that?!
“I guess…?”, he half laughed, “Well I was going to band practice but our drummer got sick so we had to cancel. So now I’m not up to much”
“I see”, ‘kind of sexy’ she thought to herself. ‘Snap out of it’
“So what?. Did you have something in mind?”
Sophia couldn’t tell but Alex had a grin on his face. Sophia was now stepping into dangerous territory she was starting to play a dangerous game.
