Even more amazing...I think they said NEW blades. You could see him take a quick look back to see where everybody was after he made all those passes.

Go Olivier Jean! He came in first in his heat...I'm really pulling for him since this is his first international meet since his serious injury over 1 year ago. He really worked hard to get back on the ice. I'm glad he's doing so well. He told me he focused on improving his nutrition and mentally skating until he could actually skate. I admire that kind of "dedication"..reminds me of Apolo! Of course, I'm still a passionate Apolo fan. But actually meeting some of the Canadian skaters increased my Canadian fanship as well. Guess I've turned into a North American Fan..being as how I'm an American living in Canada. Anyway, thanks for the information and the support! Musical Mom

Ever notice how on the webcast, after each race, the go on 'break' and play hokey music? I mean, there isn't a commercial or anything. Can't these guys talks about interesting short track filler for the 2 minute interval?

The music does get very annoying! Play past interviews with Apolo, little snippets. I will just sit here and listen to his voice.

Never mind...the announcer just answered it. The A is the top places and the B is the bottom...like places 5-10?

Never mind...the announcer just answered it. The A is the top places and the B is the bottom...like places 5-10? Let's say there are 5 racers in the A Final and 6 racers in the B final. Assuming no one dq's, the A final will determine palces 1-5, then the winnder of the B final will be 6th, the #2 winner of the B final will take 7th, etc. Remember that its not always about what place you finish, but that each place has means they get a certain # of points...the world cup circuit is all about the number of points you accumulate.... So alot of times you'll see someone post the point count at the end of a day or a world cup.... SEe: www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/Rankings.aspx?evt=11210100000022

Very well done Apolo! Like the commentator said that was smart skating on his part. Veteran skating. Far better to come in third than to try something too risky and get DQ'd.
Good job Apolo!
