Congratulations Charles Ryan! (has anyone heard why he always wears a bandanna over his face now?)

Nothing like having your stretching interrupted by an approaching camera I don't know how to feel. On one hand I love the peeks behind the scenes. On the other it's got to be distracting for them. Oh well, I suppose they're used to it

The guy just never disappoints...even the commentators are blown away by his moves.
I know what you mean about the cameras in his face. I like to think that he knows how to keep himself 'in the zone', that he's had alot of experience with it, and that if he wants to sell speedskating, that is the part of the merchandising....
It would be another thing altogehter if they appraoched him to speak at that point...

There hasn't been a zamboni break...I'm thinking perhaps this is a delayed broadcast and they have spliced out the breaks?

Good, strong race by Allison. Even tho she came in 3rd, the commentator said she skated a great, smart race and really couldn't have done anything different.

does Apolo not race the 1500 or did I miss something That's a good question...I was thinking the same thing...I always thought that the 1500 was his strongest. But in an article posted in this thread (AP newswire?) it said that they were having 2 runs of the 1500, so maybe that's it? Or maybe he just didn't make the qualification at the end of yesterday? From reply #59: "In the first 1500m (this distance is being skated twice in the World Cup), all Canadian athletes qualified for the final rounds. " Crazy race for Kimberly Derrick! and Lobello!

does Apolo not race the 1500 or did I miss something Apolo is racing in the 2nd 1500. I believe that they race the final tomorrow. I just barely got home and brought up the Univeral Sports web site. They were showing Apolo's crash. I hope he wasn't hurt. He looked frustrated that he fell but I didn't see him get back up right away.

Evie, he finished about 30 seconds behind 1st place, so he was did finish. The commentator did say that he was smiling and contgraulating the Korean team. Although there was 1 brief camera shot of him looking at his left elbow. Hopefully the pads helped him out....

Thanks AAO. I lost the Universal Sports website. I'm not sure if it is the web site having problems or if the Internet is slow. I hope to get it back on.
It's back up ;D The men's relay is on now, with Canada 1st, Russia 2nd, China 3rd (after a fall) and Great Britan 4th.
