all in all, it is a matter of what the teenagers want and feel they should do...if they want to go in the 18+ board, so be it, but they better not start trouble talking about how things are nasty. They chose to go in. It is also the parents jobs to monitor what the kids are looking at. If a kid is corrupted for looking at something, it isn't the posters fault, it is the kids fault for reading mature material. What I meant by the "tempting teenyboppers" thing was that sometimes teenagers feel like they are mature enough to look at things, and this is a way to prove it. But if someone does something just to prove that they are mature to someone else, they are not mature at all. Whoa girl!! I knew there was a reason I liked you so much! You sure you're underage? They chose to go in. I agree with this statement. I think it would be nice to at least have the option. I think that a seperate adult forum would be nice for us "older" posters. A disclaimer can be listed...enter at your own risk, adults at play!! I realize making this board strictly adult or 18+ may discourage the younger posters, but in my opinion, as it stands right now, having this board strictly PG-13, tends to discourage us "older" posters. For me personally, it's not all that much fun to read a post & not be able to really respond, or rather, say what I want, because I constantly have to censor myself. It's gets to the point of not even bothering to respond at all, which is why I don't post as often as others do. |

I agree with Majestic! If the "kids" want to read our smut, they can! They'd just better be ready for it, like any other website out there. Aplosangel said it too, and she's just a baby girl (love her)! The parents need to watch what they're kids are doing, the websites shouldn't be watching over the kids?!

It's hard to say...I think maybe if the whole board became 18+, it very well may. Some people just aren't comfortable with more adult topics & may be offended when they just happen upon it the middle of a thread. Adding a seperate forum to the already exisiting board was more of what I was thinking. Just like we have general, pictures, video, non etc...make an adult one and state that it's adult. Adding an adult forum would just be another option and I think it would satisfy all age groups here. You know going in what lies ahead and if you don't want to read it or find it offensive, then simply don't come in...they won't have to worry about stumbling across it in the middle of a post somewhere. We can keep all the other forums as is and keep them clean. Nothing would have to change and I feel that no one would feel forced out. As it is now, topics stray way off course sometimes and someone may end up coming across something they may not have wanted to read & I think that could be solved by simply moving those conversations to another forum and keeping the other general forums clean. |
