I know it's short notice, but it occurred to me that there may be some people who'd be interested...
IF ANY OF YOU LIVE IN THE L.A. AREA and are looking for something to do on a Saturday night, SoCal SSA is having a practice competition tonight from 6:15 – 8:15. (Warmups start at 6:15). I can’t go because of a prior commitment, but I volunteered at their monthly time trials on Tuesday and had a blast! (I worked one of the timers.)
There’s an impressive lineup of skaters, including many that we’ll be seeing at AmCup1:
Maria Garcia
Tina Koenig
Lezleigh Jaworski
J. R. Celski
Jon Sermeno
Julian Wood
Kyle Uyehara
Walter Rusk
Joey Lindsey
In addition, they have 2 skaters from the Netherlands training with them, including the Dutch National Champion, Niels Kerstholt, and the young SoCal ‘pocket rockets’, Sarah and Jacqueline Chen, who hold many age-group National records. Not to mention their fabulous coaches Wilma Boomstra and Rusty Smith, and photog-extraordinaire, Jerry Search.
And best of all, it’s FREE!
