Okay, peeps... this is a really S...L...O...W time o'the year. As a warm-up for the new ST season - 'LET'S GET IT STARTED IN HE'AH!' (I KNOW y'all are watching...)
I've gotten the okay from Lindsey to do this, but I'm not sure which board to post it on... however, my mantra is that it's sometimes better to ask for forgiveness than permission, so here we go...
I thought it would be fun to try and break the record for 'most users online' (current record: 166, April 3rd, 2008)
So here's what we'll do: have a poll for a couple of weeks about when to do this, then give more instructions when we get the results...
...Keep in mind when you answer the poll that all you have to do is to 'log in' at a given time, stay logged in for a given length of time (while you're doing laundry, watching MTV, reading bedtime stories to your kids, writing your thesis, etc...)

Oh, Lori, this is a great idea!
I've been watching so much Michael Phelps that it has felt alot like watching the (or reading, as the case may be) the live results of SS. The excitement of the live action, having to wait to see who will cross the finish line..so exciting! And no one online to share it with (on the east cast he's usually on anytime after 10pm).
So it will be good to get the short track crowd online all at once and build community!
I voted evenings/weekdays; thinking that if thats the majority, the east coast will be perhaps around 11pm so that the left-coasties can get home from work and logged.
But certainly, I'll be participating however the group decides!

A really easy thing to do, since half the time I forget to log off anyway! LOL (Which is why I went to 'invisible user'. Peeps would think I never get off the computer and spend my life on this thing! )  |

B-U-M-P......for breaking the 'Most Users Online' record...Nope, I didn't forget! 'Looks like from the voting that we should do it on a weeknight - I'm gonna throw a date out there, just before AmCup1 - let's tentatively say... THURSDAY, SEPT 25: 10PM Eastern Time 9PM Central Time 8PM Mountain Time 7PM Pacific Time Would that be 4PM Hawaii Time??? If we find that AmCup1 will have ANY kind of live feed, I may change the date to coincide with that event - keep checking back!Remember, you don't actually have to be ACTIVELY online, staring at your screen - you don't even have to post. You just have to have the GA site open (I think)... TRY to be here at the appointed time, but if you can't be here exactly at that time, I think you can set yourself up so that GA thinks you're here...  I'm sure hoping that MORE than the 22 who voted show up that night!

Since I have class on Thursday nights I'm not sure if I can be here right at 9 p.m. (let's hope he lets us out early) but I'll be on as soon as I get home.

I like the weekday evening plan, and by 7pm I've usually shaken off most of the "crazy" from the workday  ... if not, I'll bring wine I've updated all my equipment so this season I can finally join the live feed parties! Now watch the venue not do it anymore  |

For me, since the only time i'm online is at school, the best time...i guess mon, tues, thur, or fri, some time after nine but before three.
