I'm a huge Federer fan, too. I'm just deliriously happy that Nadal stepped up to the occasion and broke so many barriers with this win. After Federer's five straight Wimbledon titles .... I felt it was someone else's turn. And it was a monumental struggle, not easy by any means.
Nadal and Federal are BOTH champions. Nadal's victory speech was extremely humble and he praised Federer, twice, for being the "best player ever." Nadal was subdued and apologetic when he beat Federer at the French Open a couple of months ago. They are both class acts.

They both seem like great people, Nadal isn't known as well and his English isn't as strong. This is good for tennis, having two trememdous, classy champions. I predict the popularity of the sport will soar as a result of this pairing, and I hope it continues for years (remember Martina and Chrissy?). It's all good. The like and respect each other. This Wimbledon win was a huge deal.

"uncalled" for perhaps. However, that has never stopped anyone from speaking exactly wot they feel like saying. I say wot I think and it has been this way all the time. In addition, I did mentioned that the reason for my bloody "rant" was because I PERSONALLY, as in just me self, does not like Nadal one bit. I NEVER mentioned anything about the way he plays his sport or the manner in which he won Wimbledon. There is no question, the kid kicks major @ss playing tennis. having said this, I still don't like the bloody idiot and it is perfectly fine for me not doing so.
As for Apolo biting his gold medal, Apolo may be an exception to the rule.
and then bla, bla, bla..........I think Nadal is a pompous @ss, and so wot. It doesn't make me a bad person and I strongly believe his just fine about it. It doesn't make him a terrible tennis player. For realz!

Oh, hell, there's athletes I can't stand. J. D. Drew. Ex-Cardinal. Greaty player, lazy though. I hate that attitude on the field. Glad that they got rid of him. Said so on a Cards board and got ripped. Some people in the world of sports piss ya off. Hmmm 2001 San Jose Sharks, 2004 Boston Red Sox, you get the idea.
It was just the way you put it. IMO. I love your post for the most part. Entertaining. (My spelling is a bit off...) Roger is a rare gem in sports. He's kicked Rafa's booty quite well in the past. He's well spoken, generous, and passionate about the sport. I give him that. I'm note a huge fan of his, but can't for the life of me come up with anything bad to say. Except he doesn't lose much. Jeeze...
