Ah, man. I missed Izzy. Bad news. It's over for him as a Cardinal as it looks. I didn't see it, just the score. I'll have to watch the re-play of the game tomorrow. He didn't get to his 300th career save. It just went from bad to worse. Almost afraid to know what happened. Cards lost 4-1. Looper went 7 giving up only one run. EDIT: Oh, it's worse than I thought. It's too bad. He wasn't in the game. I didn't catch the end due to the Olympic games. I went to the same high school as Izzy, I graduated 6 years after him, tho. wouldn't it be a nice gift...a gold medal  Izzy has the record for most saves as a Cardinal 217...or close to it. And just 7 away from 300 in his career. And had the least amount of blown saves (like between 54-57) for having over 250 saves. They won last night. Wellemeyer got a hit, but fell rounding first. D**n, could of had a double. Pitchers do not make good base runners He joked about it after the game, saying the fall was like in slow-mo  |

The Cards are playing The Braves this weekend. They smoked them last night.  26 hits, the most by a Cardinals team since the 1930's! That's when they were known as the gas house gang. They had baggy pants back then. Sort of like Colby's when he played in Springfield last year. Anyway, that's pretty cool. 21 hits were singles. Now that's how you do it. Colby is moving along in his rehabbing. He's playing a little in Florida, he'll then get a couple of games in for Palm Beach (I'm think that's right) then back to Memphis right before the season ends. All the best to him. There's so many minor league teams for that club, jeeze! |

Thanks for the reminder Number1. It's on right now. The Cards have a day off tonight. I nearly forgot about the US Open. I'm watching out for Blake. I'd love to see him do well.

The Cardinals are set to play The Brewers. The Brewers lead the wild card chase. These two games are important. Go Wellemeyer. Take them shoulders out on the mound and show them how it's done.
Memphis season is almost over. Hope the team finishes up on a good note. Wonder when Colby will be back. He's still in the GCL...I'm getting anxious.

Memphis won, St. Louis didn't. The 9th was just...ouch! I seen the gm talking, seems like Colby may finish his season out in Palm Beach/GCL and not Memphis. Too bad. But it looks like it's winter ball for him. Guess I'll look forward to seeing him in a Cardinals jersey next year. Spring training at least. That boy had no luck this year. It'll add to his character.

did anyone watch rodd*ck's (rodthingy's  ) match against santoro last night...
his serve speed was AVERAGING 132mph ...santoro was ticked-off!
andy looked awesome, like old andy...hope he continues on...blake has advanced too!

It's funny how they censor out last names cause a 'bad' word is in it. Anyway, seen some of it. I was busy watching Pujols go nuts on The Brewers, since they have a day off tonight, I get to pay all my attention to tennis.
If I had to try and hit a 132 mph serve, I'd be peeved too. I'd be like 'Are you kidding me.' Im still laughing over Marat Safin's near meltdown over the foot fault thing. And MacEnroe was doing the match, and he's like 'yeah I'd be mad too, he lives in Spain, he speaks Spanish' Marat says a naughty English word 'woop, that was English' and laughs, and the other guy is like 'sorry about that' it's sports. I don't mind a slip up now and again. He said something funny to start it, but I forgot what it was. something like 'what, what the eff' I dunno.

The Cardinals play matches my mood = crap. They got swept by Houston. Looks like they won't be winning the wild card. If they finish over .500 and play decent for the rest of the year, then I'll be pretty happy. Bummer. Memphis season ends tomorrow. Colby is in Palm Beach and will finish out there. Dude is having it rough. Struck out twice. Get 'em in Winter Ball Raz. Memphis will finish over the .500 mark, first time in a long time that has happened. ;D That's a plus I guess. Go Red Birds. Mellie, I heard about Manu. Hope he's back to his old dominant self soon enough. Is hockey here yet? *deep breath* October 11th. Woohoo. |
