Wow, Thanks aaosmts19, what a great surprise! ;D
I didn't think you got any pics since they shut you down, but you managed to snag a couple nice shots (a heck of a lot better than anything I ever took! LOL)
And so great about your visit with Andrew, what a nice guy!

That's a good question, I was trying to figure out that exact thing...couldn't come to any conclusion. There's also a person,4th from the right, who could pass as Apolo. The silouette of the head and shoulders seemed to catch my eye, a slighter physique. I thought that the person you mentioned might have been wearing a beanie.....we'lll never know!

THANK YOU FOR THE PICTURES!!!
This was a nice surprise to start my day.
I also think the 4th from the right "could" be Apolo. To me, the 4th from the left looks more like a cap.
I loved all of your pictures. Antelope Island looks very relaxing, just being in the middle of nowhere.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D !!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!!!!! SHOWTIME!!! Remember that the camera is new for me...not necessarily great quality, but heh, when you're in a drought, you'll drink anything. Arriving at the rink the first day...The Ohno-mobile.... The local SLC speedskating club had the ice from 7:30 am - 9:00...here's one of our Rockerfund skate extraordinaires, Anthony Barthell. Did I say I was up this early on my VACATION? This is a really bad shot, but let's instead call it an artsy-fartsy shot. I took it from the stands while the local SLC Skating Club was on the ice. This is the US team warming up at the bikes and track before their ice time...about 8:30 am. Coach Larry...this may have been my demise, when I got reported to Kori..."who's that gal taking pictures?" Heading over to the rink as the US team dressed for training Allison showed up first... Then THE MAN arrived.... Simon, Shani, Jeff and Apolo getting ready Go SHANI! ... woo-hoo! Alas, this is when I got shut down, so no more pix.... The Oval from my hotel room; you can (just barely) see the white, vertical beams rising in the distance, just over the top of the Cracker Barrell sign. It had its own special night lighting which could be seen at night (obviously, since it was NIGHT ligthing!). My favorite LT skater....Andrew Love and me.....we forgot to have Jessica take our picture before she retired for the evening, so had to do a camera-at-the-end-of-the-long-arm thingy....blurry but better than nuthin....what a guy! When he was showing me his skates he was telling me they can be changed over to inlines... the entry in his blog today talks about this exact thing...(andrewlove.org/blog). Here's the type of guy he is: while we were sitting on his front porch, 2 women approached from the sidewalk, inquiring about when the last bus stopped just across the street from him. He went into the house and brought out his laptop, looked up UT Trax (transportation company) and found the time (there were no more busses that evening). They mentioned they were tired and thirsty and he brought them out glasses of water. This is a guy who takes all of life in to its fullest extent. We spent about 3 hours chatting. You know how rock groups on tour will name the tour? Like Josh Groban just finished his "Awake" tour....well, this vacation was my "Lawnchair" tour. I bought a $9.99 lawnchair, threw it in the trunk of the car, and pulled off the side of the road whenever I wanted. This is on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. Wish the depth perception was better. The road is further down than it looks...and the flatness of the receding lake. It was about 8 miles to the other side of the Lake. Road to nowhere on Antelope... exactly as this vacation was meant to be.... Will try to get the Aerial Ski team shots tomorrow night. OMG AAO,your pics are Amazing and Speechless..I loved them I wanna thank you so much for sharing them..you are so Blessed soon..http://gotapolo.com/galleries/albums/forumicons/notworthy.gif[/IMG] So fans are allowed to see them pracrice?wow.I might just have to plan a vacation there very soon

Aaosmts19...
Your photos were fantastic... it brought back so many memories of our two trips to the Oval!
As I had mentioned to you, we stayed at the Crystal Inn also, but that was in December and it snowed (as Lori can attest)! There were a lot of clouds so I didn't know that one could see the Oval from the hotel... you were able to get a good shot! ;D
Also, we had never driven over to Antelope Island in all the years we had been going to SLC. Thanks for posting those... I love the shot of the lawn chair... that reminds me of some of the places we visited in Alaska, near Anchorage. Also love the lonely-looking dirt road! I'm surprised to see that much snow still remaining on the Wasatch range... but then, Utah and Colorado got more snow than we did here in the California Sierras.

Yay for pics! Thank you, aaosmts19, for sharing these on the board. You managed to get some nice shots before getting "shut down" (even the "artsy-fartsy" ones ).

BTW, I meant to include this earlier.. When I was in SLC they were airing Apolo's anti-doping commercial...you know, the one where he says that he competes clean (in that monotone voice). It had the 2010 Olympic games logo in the lower corner.....Looks like they resurrected it.

I'm going to go with Mr. 4th from the right. Look at the shorts that he's wearing. They're knee length with white stripes running down the side. Didn't we see something like that at the awards ceremony at Nationals last December?...the shot(s) where Apolo is holding the penguin? I was looking for those photos but I couldn't find them.

Wow, Susie, your eyes are better than mine...I can't see that much detail in the pic.
The penguin pics were re-posted earlier in this very thread when I was trying to figure out who skaters were.....

Susie and aaosmts19... here is my penguin photo. In aaosmts19's workout photo, there is a person bent over, wearing red shorts, with a black top. I can't see the face tho. Wait a minute... I took a good look at the head and I think I see a navy-blue scarf!Whoa... this is my 500th post...LOL..!!

I'm seeing a long brunette ponytail going down her back. She's got some hair in front of her ears but it's not long enough to be Apolo's sideburns. I think that bluish thing that you're seeing is part of her sleeve. This is funny -- we're back to playing "Where's Apolo?" again! Congratulations on going over 500 posts, Lily! ;D

This is eerie...some of the pics that I took have landed in a Youtube video called "Apolo Ohno and ALlison Baver" by OlympicQueen. Come out, come out, wherever you are, Olympic Queen! No need to be a lurker... youtube.com/watch?v=WLZv_NiY5dE
