Random questions about Apolo!

I was really glad to hear that just because you lost it did not stop you from trying again. I had a very weird growing up. My wealthy caucasion dad married a very poor hispanic woman or should I say girl. Long story short,,,,the fact that she was hispanic was a secret and we were not to talk about it! The rules were "DO not talk about money and do not talk about being hispanic (although that is not the term that was used) My friends thought I just had a darker complection and my hair was light brown and I have hazel eyes, so I could play it off. The only people that ever called me out on my race were other hispanics,,,I guess they could tell.
Anyway, so in high school all the kids were wealthy but there were some with more power than others,,,after a while you knew that if your mom (Mine was off with my father traveling around and doing her thing) wasn't the PTA President or your dad wasn't the Booster club leader you were not going to win anything. However persistance pays off !! So does hard work!! I am older now and can tell you that you will not believe the world out there for you!!! Someone that tries like you are and wants something so bad! You are going to be AWESOME!!! Good luck and let us all know how you did!!!

Thanks Lilliana for your advice its helping me deal with myself right now because all the mad ness inside my head which I'm thinking to much and the fear of losing again and again is very painful for me to remember what had happen in the past few years. My friends told me to stay in the game and give them a competition. But what competition am I my chances are 5% out of a 100%. What doesn't kill me makes me a better and stronger person. I promise myself that I wouldn't cry if I lose again I would only know regrets of never having a chance to be class president. Everyone says that my chance will come but I've been waiting and working hard for the past few years. I started running for student council in elementary , middle school and high school which is now and lost every election because I wasn't good, pretty or popular and rich enough. I'm just sad that people in school are to shallow and always choses the beautiful and rich kids. AND YA KNOW WHAT I AM TIRED OF WAITING FOR MY TIME TO COME WHICH IS PROBABLY NEVER GOING TO COME! I learned the that I'm just to hold my head up high and have pride in what I'm doing. So world I'm coming out and I'm here to stay! I'll keep you all updated on the election but if i don't get to it that means I probably lost and crying my eyes out. Just kidding.

Okay, here is the info that I know.

Apolo finished high school via the Internet Academy of his local high school, because he was in Colorado at the time. I found out he did not go to his prom or a promo, from an interview he did.

And yes, Apolo is a junior, he is still a junior and takes internet classes via the University of Colorado. I don't know what his major is or what degree he plans to get. But Apolo does not know what he wants to do after college anyway, so at this point, skating is the main thing in his life.

Now around 2002, he wanted to explore options in acting. But then after his year 2002-03, he decided to get serious again and he kinda walked away from the celebrity lifestlye. Here again is another reason why he was still and is still at the OTC and he is officially after this year, the longest resident in the history of the OTC.

Now here it is again after the Olympics and he is exploring his options again, and here it is, he didn't attend the Worlds after the Olympics, he did this in 2002 as well. So think by maybe 2007, Apolo will be back in the running for Nationals and Worlds, and probably will start preparing for 2010. He doesn't know really want he wants to do in the long run, and that's fine because alot of people his age don't.

I think we expect him to know because he is Apolo Anton Ohno. But he is human just like us so he can be just as confused as some of the rest of us on this board.

I lot of my friends are experiencing *crises* in which they feel like they have to decided RIGHT NOW what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. So, I agree, Apolo is definitely not alone in this category, given his age and college standing. I respect him for not necessarily committing to one thing or another - he seems stable/not wishy-washy. And then again, he may just not be saying what he wants to do, if he's decided. I forget who posted this before, but someone said Apolo is so widely known but still has a mystique about him. That mystique, I think, is what keeps us here on the board, admiring his accomplishments and wondering about his life and his future.

And then again, maybe Apolo just doesn't have a clue I mean I think sometimes we give these famous people way too much credit than they deserve, and sometimes we don't give them enough!

It's like I always say, we don't know Apolo! So we don't know what that man is thinking or really feeling. I mean when it comes to skating, he is super-focused, I never doubt his intentions.

But when it comes to off the ice, Apolo does not seem centered and he admits that he can sometimes be un-focused. He said that himself. Nobody's perfect.

and as for the whole not knowing what u want to do, i noe i wana do something big with my life, save the world ya noe that kinda thing, but aparantly because im not taking calculous in HS im not gona get into any of the schools i want to, and thats messed up im f*ing 16 years old and a sophmore and whats going on now is supposed to affect the rest of my life, thats ridiculous i hate society, i just hope the system hasnt screwed Apolo over
