I know Julianne was joking when she said that...she even said now the rumors are gonna start again...she's been saying that in like, every interview ...thanks Julianne, you really helped the situation by choreographing the new dance the way you did lol. And about Apolo during all these interviews...I know he's joking around and stuff, and don't shoot me here, and I don't know why I feel this way, but I feel like Apolo's almost (trying to) act when he's joking around (esp. with Julianne by him)...like it's acting/joking. Don;t play into the rumors Apolo! I don't know, but Apolo's personality seems so different when he's doing the Hollywood thing as compared to athlete life. I like athlete Apolo and not so much 'Hollywood Apolo.' Guess I wasn't particularily excited about Apolo dancing on the show again... *ducks and covers face*

Aww Enelyak, we understand what your saying.but then again apolo is very shy and he's just trying to feel comfortable when he's in hollywood. In my opinion hollywood and short track are two totally different worlds. We all know on the ice he's "Lord of the ice".We all know from their relationship that,it's obviously their good friends, and Julianne has made it very clear many times. But as fans of Apolo we just have to stand behind him and support him and hope that hollywood doesnt go to his head:)

Apolo has sacrificed much of his young life which could explain some of his friends, Hollywood, etc. He has described himself as a person of extremes, and I get that. It's those extremes that enable him to be the champion he is.
As for his dance this week, Julianne is still the dance pro and Apolo is still pretty good for a part-time amateur. Given the music pace, length of the dance, all the lifts involved, his costume, and having been away from dancing a long time, I'd say he did really well. His real beauty is on the ice. Even Julianne can't hold a candle when it comes to that incredible form, smoothness, sureness, angles, rhythm, strength and speed. No one compares.
I can't stand Hollywood, but if he is successful and happy....then great. Hope he isn't disappointed or hurt. My favorite images of Apolo were his first Olympics when he was a little more filled out, tousled thick hair, big smiles, obviously excited and joyful. I'll be at the 2010 games and my wish for his final Olympics is that he brings those feelings with him once again. He deserves the best.

Don't cover your face Enelyak, I hear you. Of all the facets of Apolo we've seen, I prefer Apolo the Athlete over Hollywood Apolo too. Second only to the small glimpses of the Personal Apolo we've been allowed to see. The one that peeked out from the pages of his autobiography. The one who gave a joyous shout and hugged his longtime friend after skating his perfect race. The one who appears behind his eyes when an intelligent journalist asks just the right question. The one who can hold entire conversations with his dad from all the way across the ice using only his eyes. That's the Apolo I love the most and if you add up all the times we've been allowed to see that person since 2002, you might get 30 minutes out of six years but it's that half hour that made all the rest worthwhile.
I don't knock him for having more than one side to himself. It doesn't mean he's not true. It's something we all do. I have my professional persona that I carry to work every day. The crazy risk taker known to my friends. The mama bear who hovers protectively over the young people in my life. The one who no matter how old she gets will always be "baby" to her siblings. They're all me. He||, I've got "August", a lady who every once in a while sets aside everything else and comes in here to share her love for a young man she's never met. Whether I'm normal or I'm Sybil is for a doctor to decide, but I'll wager that everybody kind of works it that way. Perhaps it's all the pieces of us that keeps us whole.
Back to the boy: "Hollywood Apolo" will probably always come across to us as a bit rehearsed because chances are it's the side that's least natural to him. He'll participate in it, play along with it, but never really give in to it because cards on the table, he's better than what it has to offer. By the same token, the glitzy side of Hollywood will acknowledge him, respect him, but probably never really embrace him. Why? Because of the two or three coats of bull***t repellent he sprays on himself before he steps out into it. Apolo will dance, but not to their music. He'll make a deal, but won't sell his soul. For that reason he will always keep the likes of TMZ at arms length, and that's the way he likes it.
Because he works it the way he does, I have a sinking feeling that we are on the threshold of a dry spell. Time for him to live his life. Take care of himself. Mind his own business. He may show up for the DWTS finale as past winners do. I hope so but I'm not sure. He might have paid those dues Tuesday.
Whatever he's up to, I wish him wellness, joy, and love. He so deserves it.

Fabulous caps pookie ... thanks!! It was SO awesome to see them dancing again. I agree that Apolo looked a bit rusty. The handstand move was particularly awkward, but you know Julianne threw that in for the full-body contact, sly girl. He seemed to get more and more comfortable as the dance progressed. Loved it! Just hated his costume, yuck. Off to download "Every Day" ...

I think that Apolo is trying to be careful as to what he says to make sure that nothing he says can be misconstrued. You know how the media can take one little thing out of context and the next thing you know....
