Every once in a while when I come to this site I check the Forum information at the bottom of the General screen. Currently this is listed:

0 Members, 4 Guests, 1 Invisible User. Most users online was 166, Yesterday at 8:48am

Interesting that the most users online was yesterday, a pretty quiet AO newsday. I mean, its not like he was competing yesterday and we were all huddled together in front of the LIVE RESULTS screen.

Before yesterday, the greatest # of users was sometime last late June. At that time he was doing his several tour dates with the DWTS tour. I can see where there would be a spike in online users.

But yesterday?

aaostmts - I've always found the forum information interesting, too, especially the number of Guests viewing under the "Active Users in the Last 24 Hours" section. For instance, there's been 488 Guests viewing so far today! Who are they? So glad they're visiting and hopefully they'll jump in once in a while and join in.

I wonder if there was a spike in numbers yesterday because of Apolo's appearance in Arkansas?

I was chatting with others about this. For most of yesterday the Guest total over the last 24 hours was over 800!

Because GA doesn't require members to log in to read, I'm guessing that quite a few of the guests are actually unlogged-in members. I usually don't log in unless I'm posting or reading my PM's.

Another interesting thing I discovered. For the 'Active Users Over the Last 24 Hours', I experimented a bit and found that it must only register 'unique' hits, meaning that no matter how many times you visit in a 24-hour period from the same computer, it'll only count you once, meaning that yesterday there were over 800 'different' people who visited the site, which is almost twice as many people as we have members - cool, huh?

I love that Lindsey added this - it's really fun to watch.

And then again you have people like me, that check in about 10 times a day, from 3 different computers.

I don't smoke, but I check this board throughout the day as if I was taking a smoking break....love it!

I, too, am not usually logged in unless I'm posting.

Well, maybe the fact that he was one of the distinguished speakers there in Fayetteville could have been a factor...but not sure.
